If you're going this way, do stop. It's easy and not much of a climb, nice site to see. The Tea Room and Crafts is well worth a call into. Food is all fresh & delicious. Price is average. Some crafts are the 'usual' but then they carry some lovely handmade crafts; wool lambs, jewelry and delightful wool fairies. And... More

I have visited Glencar waterfall on a number of occasions. This is an amazing waterfall, best viewed after rainfall, that is accessible along a short footpath. It is a great place of natural beauty in Ireland. On the last occasion there were a couple of very hardy young souls actually swimming in the pool, although from their shouting it is... More

Easy to see why Yeats wrote of the fairy people at Glencar waterfall as a rainbow appeared and spanned the downfall. Do read the verse and take yourself back to a time before cars, and many visitors. Visitors well catered for by good car parking and a great cafe.

There are many natural places of beauty in Ireland, but here is a fine place to chill out and relax,it's getting a reputation for people to ask there loved one's for their hand in marriage,9/10

Along with the waterfall, there's a coffee shop and a small playground. There's a carpark looking onto the lake with public toilets, it was very busy when we arrived but didn't take long to get a space. We were travelling with 2 babies and a toddler. The waterfall was good, have seen bigger but is in a nice setting. I... More

We just walked up to the waterfall and down the pathway again. We missed out on the tea room and the playground. This only took about 20 minutes at the most. It is well maintained and the steps are easy enough. There is also a beautiful scene with sheep by the lake/lough near the car park. Even better - it's... More

We drove around Glencar lake and stopped at the Waterfall. It's beautifully presented with a car park, walk way, facilities etc. Not a huge amount to see but it's a lovely area and a credit to whoever developed the walkway and area.

I love visiting here. When you drive this route regularly you can often forget to enjoy the scenery, so it's nice to stop and appreciate it from time to time. Every time I do, I find myself awestruck by the whole place. Make sure you drive the lower road by the waterfall and also the upper road to take a... More
