What a wonderful discovery! Stumbled upon this on our way to the Burren...so glad we did. First of all, contrary to the review from the person who couldn't figure out how to get into the site (and blamed the Irish people), there is a very...More

Our AirBnB host recommend this visit (along with a stop at the Gallery Café, in Gort). We wouldn’t have known about it if it weren’t for her. She told us we could get keys to the tower from the house across the street, but we...More

Really neat place to stop by. Won't take you very long to see. You can park right there and walk around. Take time to walk through the cemetery.

I didn't get to see this on my last two trips to Ireland. It's a real hidden gem, if you don't know about it. The tower, the ruins, the crosses, the history, the landscape -- mesmerizing! If there hadn't been gale-force winds and heavy showers,...More

Such an amazing tower well worth a look. You can't get in as no doors there must be a tunnel leading to it underground! I thought it was like something out of a book I just so wish they would restore the tunnel as the...More

A lovely little stop just off our route. Well maintained and curious. We enjoyed calling in here to see the ruins and the great tower

One of around 20 remaining round towers in Ireland, this is the tallest and begs the question of how the tower was accessed as a refuge as the doorway is about 7 metres off the ground. A lovely place to wander around, quiet, green and...More

A short 30-45 minute visit, as you can't really go into the ruins but can walk around taking good pictures. No other tourists and some very friendly cows.

Came across the ruins on the way to visit the Burren and took time to stop and look around. A very interesting extended site, you can walk around and explore. There is a car park and you can look around in your own time. Although...More

It's full of interesting ruins, and you can get in, the people in the house across the street have keys for which you are asked to leave a deposit. It's supposed to have the tallest round tower in existence. Lovely to visit such a place...More

Just find your way to Gort, it's not far out of the town. If you take the R460 out of Gort to Corofin, you can't miss it. It's on your right. Well worth a visit
