The town is lovely and the graveyard very humble and non-descript. It's wonderful to walk around and take photos. The church is small and the grave yard intimate. The tea and gift shop is lovely as well.

Even in dark November the location has an air of quiet serenity - an opportunity for quiet reflection - the church was closed (Monday afternoon) so we had a brief walk in the graveyard and stopped for a moment at Yeats' resting place - the small comfy shop serves up tasty soups and some neat souvenirs. It would be too... More

A beautiful setting for the final resting place of this great man. The setting is very much in the countryside, the church not huge but very nice. The door handles in the shape of swans were very different and ornate, something to look out for. There is a plaque on the right of the church entrance that shows you the... More

Lovely church and cemetery and gives Yeat's his view from his final resting place. Also the swan door handles for the front door were donated from Perth, Australia which gave us more of a connection.

Would recommend this stop mainly for the beautiful scenery that beckons behind the church and graveyard - Benbulbin being the hidden gem in the distance. Was a lovely, sunny day on our visit, which yielded so many amazing pictures.

If you happen to be in the area, feel free to stop, but not overwhelming. Probably good for the Yeats fans, but wouldn't go out of my way to see it.

The main focus of our visit to "Yeats' Country" was to immerse ourselves in the beautiful landscape of his poetry, and to trace his footsteps. His grave was a huge disappointment. It may as well have been the unknown French soldier in there for the way it is all laid out. Difficult to find, no info about the wonderful poet... More

W B Yeats has a very simple headstone over his grave. If you look at any photos of the site that's it. We only dropped in because it was on the way to more interesting sites. The church is worth a quick look if you've taken the time to visit the grave. The whole visit will take a handful of... More

Interesting but not imperative to see unless you are an admirer of Yates. Location and grounds are lovely

Enjoyed the plain and simple gravestone for Yeats! The church is beautiful and should not be missed. The pipe organ is impressive as well as the interior. (Plus it is Free). The tea room and gift shop are also charming. Must get tokens from the wait staff to use the wash rooms!
