Some nice views on the approach road, unfortunatly which services this holy well ,is riddled with serious potholes .On arrival at the well. there are several early christian carved crosses, and there is a good religious ora in the vicinity .It is advisable to walk the last half mile at least , to avoid car damage .

Finding St. Brendan's well is not an easy task. It is found in an area of Valentia Island that does not appear to have working farms or many inhabitants. The road was muddy from recent rains, and we had to pull over, park, and walk the last few yards to the well. Like many religious sites, it is not an... More

We stopped by and it is not an attraction that I would suggest driving out of your way for, but worth a stop if you are nearby. It is a sacred place and historical to be sure, but the views are also wonderful from the well area, so if you are there it is worth a little extra drive to... More

It is a wee bit difficult to find and the road is pot holed but leave your car behind for a wonderful wander through the fields. Follow the road in and it is well marked. The well itself is very spiritual and one gets a feeling of peace there. Don't be put off by all the trinkets left by previous... More

There is one sign post from the main road for the well, however you are on your own after that. The route is not signed posted after this and as advised in other reviews the road is very badly pot holed. The "O'Sheas pub" building was never actually a pub but an old cottage which was painted to resemble a... More

St. Brendan's Well is tricky to get to as the dirt road is full of potholes. The well where St. Brendan the Navigator is supposed to have baptized two locals is very interesting and overflowing with prayer mementoes from those who have prayed and visited at this holy place. There are ancient weather-beaten stone crosses there also. If you like... More

Despite the poor road conditions I would recommend to park at the closed O Sheas pub and walk the sort distance over the huge potholes to arrive and the holy well of St.Brendan. Well work a visit and you get to over look the blanket islands

despite a signpost on the 'main road', after driving along a most potholed lane for what seemed like eternity we came to a dead end and no sign or signpost for the well. Turned around and headed back through the potholed road again. Not worth the effort... or damage to the car

This is a step back in time - really nice remote, spiritual place to visit - long windy roads to get to this well but worth the journey
