A mile or so from Ballycarbery Castle. Park in small lot and walk 0.5 mile or so up to the fort. Very unique layout and it offers a nice view of the castle. Worth the effort it takes to get there. Allow 40 minutes and...More

There are 2 stone forts beside each other. Both are free and only a very short walk from the car park spaces. You can climb up the stone fort and get great views. We loved it!

We were told to visit these forts by a lady in the hostel in Portmacgee..wow they were fantastic. A mini-Newgrange, they are beautifully maintained, with a just enough detail in the archaeology information for myself & my family. They should not be missed ..
