A mile or so from Ballycarbery Castle. Park in small lot and walk 0.5 mile or so up to the fort. Very unique layout and it offers a nice view of the castle. Worth the effort it takes to get there. Allow 40 minutes and...More

The stone fort is still in good condition despite it's age and you can go to the top of the walls and get an amazing view of the hills and water. Parking is nearby and it is about a 5 minute walk to get to...More

There are 2 stone forts beside each other. Both are free and only a very short walk from the car park spaces. You can climb up the stone fort and get great views. We loved it!

We were told to visit these forts by a lady in the hostel in Portmacgee..wow they were fantastic. A mini-Newgrange, they are beautifully maintained, with a just enough detail in the archaeology information for myself & my family. They should not be missed ..
