It was a cloudy, misty day but it is still a stunning drive. There are some narrow spots where you breath in when a car is going the opposite way but still have our wing mirror. The views are gorgeous

A highlight of any trip to Clifden..The Who had a song about it "I can see for Miles"..Just be careful if driving and trying to take in the breath-taking views..there is a car park at the top..don't look down too much if you are nervous...More

The time tables for 2017 put sunset around 8:14pm on September 1 and 7:08pm by the end of the month.

Yes it is possible to cycle if you have the energy in your legs for steep climbs and are not afraid of steep downhills. Clifden is a good base for Connemara

I would get a B&B or Hotel in Clifden if you are going car-less as the public transit is hit or miss and the distance don't look bad on maps but roads are small, curvy and in season crowded. And I second the comment above... More
