We bumped into Barry by accident while we were looking for the tourist office and as a result we spent a wonderful hour learning about the history of Kinsale and it's place in Irish history. The tour was never less than fascinating and Barry's enthusiasm and knowledge made the hour fly. I would recommend taking the tour first and then... More

Although it was unseasonable chilly the tour went on with a decent size group through the lovely, scenic town of Kinsale. Barry was very engaging and informative about important role that Kinsale played in Ireland's history. He also added a few tips on places to eat and drink in this foodie town. a great way to get to know the... More

Super friendly, witty and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Kinsale -- the main focus of the tour -- Barry was a great guide and a good time was had by all in our little stroll around the downtown.

Recommended by Rick Steves and worth the $. The tour meets at the Tourist Center, which is less than a minute walk from the bus we caught in Cork. The #226 bus goes from center-city Cork to its last stop in Kinsale, so nobody can miss the stop. Check the website for arrival/departure times, which for us were hourly on... More

We took a 90-minute walking tour last week while visiting Kinsale. I'm glad we did because we were only there for a few hours and this really allowed us to learn about this great seaside village and its history. Barry was engaging and fun! He obviously loves what he does. I would highly recommend this tour.

There's something about Barry. I haven't met Don, so I can't review him, but there's something about Barry that just holds your attention. He's a charming, easygoing and passionate historian and guide. He made Kinsale alive and vibrant with his unique way of storytelling. I don't know if this tour is half as good if someone else stood there, even... More

Barry was the best storyteller I have ever experienced. He had the perfect balance of humor and knowledge. I had read about the 1601 battle that occurred in this area from an Irish history book and it was great to hear him talk about it while visualizing the town and port. He also recommended some books to read which was... More

Wonderful walking tour of Kinsale! From the moment Barry collected us, he was engaging and informative. He provided us with lots of great historical information about Kinsale, which is a great town packed full of historical happenings. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Barry was, he even gave us extra information regarding the area which we used for the... More

We all loved this tour. We did a private family tour. We were picked up at hotel by Barry. He walked us all around Kinsale and was a wonderful walking encyclopedia of historic local information. Kinsale is a small town rich in Irish history! We encourage you to make a call and do this tour. You will not regret it!
