Entry is barred, and the place is abandoned. We went around through a field only to see that both the site and the way to it are overgrown with tall grass with no way to enter apart from jumping over cattle fence

This is a really hard site to find on a map. Use Google maps when you get to Dunarra and look for a circle on a hill. YOu can see the top of the thatch peeping out out the top. There is a really good...More

Worth a visit, however the so called venacular cottage adjoining the fort is not a good depiction of a cottage from that period. The door is located at the gable end (the original versions did not) and not much research went into its reconstruction. Please...More

A restored ring fort located near the townland of Darrara, near Clonakilty Agricultural College. Entry fee is nominal. Interesting, guided tour. worth a visit
