Knowing the importance of Michael Collins to modern Irish History, it was especially moving to be on his birthplace site.

We had an excellent guide(Tim Crowley) which made a huge difference to our visit. There is only a shell of the original house left but with a guide it makes a lot of sense.

As his actual birthplace was destroyed this does not take a long time to get round. However, the information boards are good and it is a peaceful place in this day and age.

Quite poignant to walk around this lovely little site and learn more about Michael Collins.Went with the children after watching the movie and them learning about him in school.
