I can't think of a more lovely countryside to visit on a sunny Irish spring day! The site is well cared-for and preserved, and it was really a thrill for me to be in such a historic place with so much meaning for me. There is a quite dignity to the site; the educational placards are informative; and one can... More

Myself, wife & daughter took the tour on Saturday 16th July. Being Irish we all had an understanding of who Michael Collins was and of his place in Irish history. However, in taking the tour given by Tim Crowley we benefited from his extensive knowledge of all aspects of the life and times of Michael Collins. Also, included was a... More

Visited this spot years ago and unfortunately nothing has changed much. I thought there would have been a lot more information on display telling us about his life.

He signed the Declaration of independence of Irland with Churchill and he was killed by English spy in 1923 . He... More

A novel way to see the town of Clonakilty and learn about the history. Pick up the Road Choo Choo Train at the Model Village and Railway Attraction.

Took a tour through the Michael Collins Centre. The birthplace of Michael Collins is a beautiful and tranquil site. Being able to visit this site brings history within a touchable range. Our tour guide took us to the remote location and provided commentary so we knew the stories behind the buildings and location.

This place is local to me but I enjoy bringing visitors to this serene spot. Not a lot to see here but its the atmosphere of solace under the leafy trees that I like most. While in the area I would advise a stop up the road at the Four Alls Pub (Sam's Cross).

real authenticity! Where the big man lived as a child. His famliy home burned as a reprisal. Living history. A must see for anyone interested in modern Irish history. Only 5km from Clonakilty.
