A lovely stone circle with interesting trees

A peaceful little spot in Kenmare. There's an honesty box (2€/person) and it's worth the little walk up from the town centre to see this historical site.

I've seen other stone circles, but this was my first visit to Kenmare's. The grounds are very well maintained which makes the Stone Circle appear to be staged. Then I remembered that Kenmare is a Tidy Town which might account for the manicured lawn. It is a nice, quiet spot overlooking the river and a good place to reflect about... More

The locals joke that this circle was put here only recently for the tourists...and I am sorry (for a moment) to laugh at that because quite frankly it looks almost too convenient to the town to be true. It is certainly lovingly tended and protected by the current pagans (sorry residents) of Kenmare and they charge 2 Euro per visitor... More

Stone circles are always interesting to me - not to everyone's taste maybe... Anyway, this is off down Market Street. In Kenmare, well signposted and easy to find. There doesn't seem to be "official" parking, but you can slot a car in well enough. The stone circle s small and well maintained with a nice outlook. You won't spend a... More

These stones are an easy walk form the centre of Kenmare. They represent ancient history and are supported by some general information

To read about such things and see one in life is amazing. Easy to get to on foot. Small charge to get in. It was evening and overcast when I visited but still amazing.

It was a bit of a walk off the town squarely worth it. It is so very peaceful. It is worth the time to visit the site.

We walked from town to the Stone Circle. The history of it was wonderful especially in the off season as there was no one else there. I have seen tours offered in places which I found to be comical because it's a stone circle. Read the one page history at the entrance and view the circle. If you want to... More
