Lovely place to walk, not far from Matlock. The Awkright society also do historical walks monthly on a Sunday afternoon which are interesting. Always take visitors here as it’s usually quiet.

I regularly visit this beautiful place to walk the dog as I live nearby. The waterfalls are stunning and it’s the perfect place if you’re into photography. Steep steps to negotiate so I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with limited mobility. Its not a place for...More

The road directly north of Lumsdale valley has a free layby (opposite the school). Have a good trip.

If you park by the school and follow the river until you want to turn around and come back you will be able to retrace steps following the river back upstream.

There isn't a car park. It isn't an attractionh, it's a steep wooded valley. You'll need to park somewhere else, probably by the school at the top and walk. Take proper walking boots too.
