Buildings look lovely and dramatic topiary outside but didn't get to go in. Park with lambs and lake well worth a stroll through, and they are free!

The last time I visited the Court was, well, an age ago... when you have something like this on your doorstep it's all to easy to take it for granted. A beautiful house containing around 100 paintings and some lovely pieces of furniture. I'm not educated in works of art but some of the paintings were stunning and I enjoyed... More

Corsham Court is a beautiful country house near the town and has a very rich history. The paintings were very plentiful and there was a lot of information on them to. The staff were very knowledgeable and welcoming to the property. Lovely and pretty formal gardens to go for a gentle stroll and Corsham Park is also very nice for... More

Thank you for writing this. We really do try hard to make the experience of visiting Corsham Court both interesting and a pleasure. The picture collection has been open to the public for over two hundred years and we also have many significant pieces of furniture. Our gardens feature the great oriental plane, which is acknowledged as having the largest... More

Only in England could you come across somewhere like Corsham Court... An enormous (Privately Owned) house where the family live in a wing of it - apparently the main house was last lived in over 160 years ago but, houses a wonderful collection of old masters, porcelain and furniture. We received a very warm welcome from the room stewards who... More

Visited with my two children, both girls, one aged 11 one aged 6. Both have been visiting historic houses since they were very young, and are acutely aware of not touching anything. They have a fascination for history, and like to ask questions. We have been members of the National Trust for over 10 years, and recently decided to join... More

I am naturally very sorry to read this. The majority of reviews mention how friendly and informative the staff are. We are very happy to welcome children art Corsham Court and indeed have visits of classes from the local primary schools (of which there are three in the town), for which we make no charge. Because we have no areas... More

Really enjoyed such an interesting place which is more like an art gallery - but musty and genuine and very good guides. Seemed a bit gothic to me and I will go back one day.

I am very glad you enjoyed your visit. The State Rooms are presented much in the same way as they have been for several decades and I have always felt it important to maintain the historic character of the collection, without trying to commercialise it too much. More

We had eaten at the excellent Methuen Arms and went for a walk around the lovely village. Sadly, we were turned away by a security man at the entrance of Corsham Hall. He was unable to give us any information about the Hall so we went to look at the neighbouring Saint Bartholomew's Church. This is a large church set... More

Spent a pleasant few hours looking around the East wing ground floor of the house, but would be nice if more of the house was opened for viewing. The volunteer guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. The extensive grounds would make a nice additional attraction in summertime. There is no café etc in the house, but some nice pubs, cafes... Thanks for the review. The State Rooms, which you visited, do have around 100 paintings on display, as well as an important collection of 18th century furniture. Much of the rest of Corsham Court is used by Bath Spa University, who are the tenants of the Corsham Estate. I live in another part of the house and here the Library... More
