Overview
More
Coughton Court has been home to the Throckmorton family for 600 years, this finest of Tudor houses stands testament to a family's courage in maintaining their beliefs. From a position of high favour to one of fear and oppression post-Reformation, the Throckmortons were leaders in a dangerous age, helping to bring about Catholic emancipation in the 19th century. Explore this story of fascinating personalities through the 'family album' of portraits and Catholic treasures around the house. Coughton is still very much a family home with an intimate feel: the Throckmorton family live here, managing the stunning gardens which they have created.

A great story of the gunpowder plot on the treson walk. Tactile and an excellent fun place. The house was lovely and the gardens were full of apples. Ice cream was a let down as there were only two flavours from the 6 shown available.

A great little historic treasure with lovely picturesque gardens. Knowledgeable mature guides scattered around the richly ornate house and tower. Quite a surprise to see how many gunpowder plotters had a connection to this place. Even had Edward VIII's original abdication letter!

Interesting place to visit. Despite having timed tickets the house can get a little crowded at times. Slow service in the food servery, with no separate queue for those just wanting drinks. Gardens were great.
