It goes without saying this is one of the UK's great galleries. We particularly wanted to see the Pre-Raphaelite paintings and Wedgwood Jasper collections, and they exceeded our expectations. Good galleries need not only the items on display but also staff who are helpful and...More

Free admission, though recommended donation is 4 GBP. Nice stroll of an hour or so. The oil paintings are enough but the display of Chinese artifacts was also quite good. A room is dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte and the (tiny) replica bed is a revelation.

Well, this is my most favourite place in the world. Peerless gallery, pre-Raphs a-plenty, fabulous sculptures - of another time! Wedgwood, terrific exhibitions, 1950s fashion, Oriental art. Great cafe, in lovely Village. Just go!
