We went here on a chilly but sunny weekday afternoon in late September. Many folks were running on the beach or walking their dogs (and cleaning up after them.) Great place for a walk and obviously well used.

Head out past Barry's amusements and you can literally walk until Portrush is a thin line in the distance. Beautiful beach that seems to go on for ever and with the dramatic Atlantic/Irish Sea clashing off shore, will leave you full of fresh air, ready...More

Beautiful beach and promenade on the North coat of Northern Ireland. Joins onto Portrush harbour with many bars and restaurants around the harbour . Surfing school and boat trips from Portrush harbour. A must visit . Lovely walk by the Atlantic Ocean.

No matter what time of day, the West Strand is a joy. Great waves roll in but at sunset the colours are a joy to behold, especially if you are strolling barefoot through the shallow water. A quiet, reflective time to enjoy.

If you visit the north of Ireland you must do the walk along the Strand toward White rock. Just heavenly.

Simply stunning, love the beach, the promenade and the views. Plus you can just talk over to Barry’s or Ramore or whatever you need for young kids or older folk. Such a beautiful place all year round .

No dog walking is only aloud off peak September to May i think. However you can walk your dog freely on the beach near the lifeboat.
