Went with grandparents and little ones (5 and 3) a year after last visit - interesting to see how much better they both engaged with it. All clean and tidy and good selection of animals in seemingly good condition. A word of advice: it's on a very steep slope so harder work with v little ones or with infirm people.... More

Taken the kids twice and both times it was near impossible to see most animals . Glass to enclosures filthy. It's alright but don't think I would go again.

Really fun day out, Definitely worth a trip there. Lots to see and do, shops are a bit overpriced but hopefully the money goes back into the zoo and the animals care.

Great attractions and a good days exercise. The zoo is located on a mountain so quite a bit of up hill walking. Didn't really notice though as the animals kept your mind off this.

Like many people we headed to the zoo over Easter. The Police had the main road closed off to stop cars going up and we were redirected to the Valley Leisure Centre for a free bus which would run back and forth until 7pm. Apart from the kids almost being flattened by a group of adults in their anxiety to... More

Over from Scotland and not been to Belfast zoo since I pushed a pram up that hill! Lovely to take girls back to see the animals! Staff so helpful and we enjoyed feeding times!

I think this major attraction is missing out, the only events seem held are animal feeding times which the first I saw with the spider monkeys was dump a pile of food and leave. No talk, no introduction, in an outdated system. A lot of zoos involve more hands on experience or possible staff done photos with tamer animals for... More

We hadn't been to the zoo for a few years & were pleasantly surprised by the changes that have been made. We loved the new reptile house & saw loads of animals around the zoo. Our favourites were the lions, giraffes, penguins, sea lions & hyena. It is very steep in places, toilets were very clean, there's 2 cafes &... More

We visit the zoo regularly during the school holidays. Our grandkids enjoy the zoo. The zoo is easily accessed from the M2 motorway, within a short drive from Belfast city centre. Not sure about public transport. Entry cost is very reasonable priced and 2 seniors and 2 adults cost £25, family ticket is slightly dearer. There are a number of... More
