Fascinating insight into the world of Irish whiskey- making at Bushmills
We really enjoyed our tour of the Bushmills Distillery. The wonderful Valerie entertained and educated us and took us around the site - the oldest whiskey distillery in the world. It was great to see the various processes and to smell and feel the heat of those gorgeous whiskey barrrels. Oh and to have a wee glass at the end of the tour. Our favourite was the 12 year old malt. NB to the Bushmills Directors: please take down the signs for the restaurant/cafe as this is confusing and disappointing to visitors as THERE IS NO CAFE FOR VISITORS and change the info on the website too. Such a missed opportunity. You have to feel sorry for the lovely staff who have to apologise and explain.

Definitely worth a visit for the over 18s!
We enjoyed our visit and our guide was knowledgeable and amusing. The explanation of the process was good, but a diagram in the leaflet would have been useful as the production area was quite noisy. It seemed odd that we were not allowed to take photos. The tasting at the end was good but we found we could buy bottles cheaper elsewhere.

It should really be called Joe's whiskey shack
I've always been a Scotch fan but as I was in the area it would have been rude not to go to the distillery. If only find out what they have been up to, sample some of the nectar and have a great time. Our tour guide was Joe, a man from the country famous for its Irish whiskey, the United States of America. I found Joe to be informative and charming. In particular when he channelled his yoga guru in the still room. His measures of whiskey pours were generous and I can honestly say that he turned into a friend. Hence I propose that the distillery is now renamed as Joe's whiskey shack. Their drams are very nice, as I write this I am having a Guinness and black bush on the side. Slainte Joe!

    Worth a visit
We had such a good day here, our guide Darren was really funny and made the tour even more interesting. We went on a Saturday so the bottling wasn’t happening but we still seen the inside of the process. At the end we were allowed two drinks to compensate for this. For £15 this was well worth the money and I definitely recommend if you are in the area!

    Interested tour !!
Visited with a group of friends and found the tour informative and interesting. Not really a fan of whisky but our female Canadian tour guide make the tour fun !! You might want to visit Mon-Fri if you want to see the production and bottling operation. Well worth a visit if you are in the area !!

    Fascinating
It was very interesting and our American guide Joe was very charismatic & funny & included us by asking questions. I thought learning about the barrels was the most fascinating even if we didn't see them being filled. The hot room was like something from Wonka's factory with the tubes & gadgets in the quality control room! My husband loved the brewing smells, & the samples at the end of course! Worth a visit!

Early tours best Best to book in advance
Wee tip Try go before 4 so that you can see things actually working... The tour is so worth it and the tour guide really made it... Great energy even after a long day. We were on the 4pm tour but he still had so much energy and involved everyone. Highly recommend - best to book to avoid disappointment

    Excellent visit
Everyone was incredibly welcoming. The tour was comprehensive, interesting, entertaining and factual. As a family we learned a lot about the history of the distillery and how the whisky was made and distributed. Our tour guide, named Joe, was friendly and very imformative.

    Great History/Whisky
Well worth the visit and value for money. Tour guide was informative, he could have been a little more engaging though. The bar area at the end of the tour was great and the whiskies were fabulous as you would expect.

Joe was a fantastic tour guide. He kept it interesting and fun. He encouraged interaction and got to know us. The distillery wasn’t running when we were there, but Joe gave us lots of stories and facts. The tasting was elegant and we got to know a couple from Canada. We had fun comparing the whiskeys and I learned so much about what I like/dislike. We ended up buying a couple of bottles and some gifts in the lovely gift shop. Highly recommend.

We did the Premium tour and it was worth every penny. Guide was very informative and humours. We saw the site and had a clear explanation of all the stages of production.

The tour included 6 very generous glass of whiskey and a full explanation of each one. This is not a tour for anyone driving! Great fun a definite must do.

A very interesting and informative tour. The young man that acted as our guide was knowledgable, able to answer all questions, and was very personable. He warned us of the period of extreme heat and made sure everyone knew there would be assistance for anyone that needed to leave. After the tour we were all provided a free drink, I had the hot toddy and highly recommend it!! especially since we were there on a cold, windy day. The gift shop is open to purchase products and souvenirs. An enjoyable time.

We had a fantastic tour of the distillery with our guide Ricky. A real insight into the history and expertise of the whiskey Oompa Loompas of Bushmills. We particularly loved the barrel sniffing and the free tasting. Unmissable!

Great old distillery to visit while in the area. Ricki gave an excellent and entertaining tour. As a couple that is quite familiar with the distillation process from many other tours, we were hoping for more on the history, but many in our group had process questions.

We had a delightful visit to the Bushmill Distillery yesterday. Our tour guide, Jonty was just wonderful providing an excellent tour. He was informative, personable and great with a group that spanned across a wide range of ages. We also enjoyed our visit to the gift shop and the complimentary drink in the bar. I never imagined a whiskey version of a margarita "the daisy" would be so delicious!
