Take a step back in time at the Gwili Steam Railway, a delightful preserved railway just outside Carmarthen in West Wales. Running steam train services every day of local school holidays and selected days throughout the remainder of the year, this is the perfect trip for all ages to enjoy. Experience a typical country branch line from the 1950s with a stop off at Llwyfan Cerrig Station in a beautiful spot alongside the River Gwili.

To fully appreciate a heritage railway one has to bear in mind the costs involved in running such an enterprise and the specialist engineering skills required. Manned usually by volunteers, there are few that one could describe as 'the finished article', as they are constantly...More

Didn't plan to go to gwili, but we saw the signs and took a chance. Good decision! From the impromptu picnic, brought from the train car cafe to the slow, tranquil train ride, we all loved every minute of it. The train journey is broken...More

Hi there Thanks for the query. As far as we are concerned there is no problem with bringing a little dog. Their fare is £1.50 which you can pay on the day. The only thing is that the Santa trains are usually very busy and... More
