We stayed here for three nights. It was great being easy walking distance to a nice selection of restaurants; too many to hit in three days. I don't think it would be worth driving over here just for the malecon itself, though it is a pleasant stroll along the water opposite the restaurants.

Loved the quaint village character of the Malecon. So fun to walk to from our guesthouse to get an ice cream, walk down a few steps to the beach, and eat our treat watching and listening to the ocean.

Great way to meet people and enjoy great views. We walked down every night and enjoyed meeting people. It is also the meeting place for a lot of the tours.

Malecon was a lovely inn, with gorgeous ocean views. Eaperanza was like a throw back to a rustic old style beach town. Loved it!! Terrific laid back atmosphere. Staff was attentive and helpful. The rooms were simple, and clean. the fresh fruit daily as part of the breakfast, included , was fantastic. Internet was fine in the common areas but... More

The Malecon is the main event in Esperanza -- most of the small town's commercial activities are across the street and we found ourselves sitting on any number of the always available benches facing the water -- with gorgeous views. The sunset is not to be missed. We stayed in the town and experienced the Malecon at various times of... More

Not to much to see here. A few places to eat and a few bars. 1 or 2 places to buy souv. Nice walk along the water on boardwalk. Went to Bananas for drink and snack-good, a little pricey. Went to El Quepno for dinner. Good food but very expensive so be prepared. Excellent service.

A great place to see a wonderful sunset!! We kind of found it by accident as we were looking for a place to eat. I was perfect before dinner.

The most spectacular sunset and beautiful fun colorful night life. Great treat for camera buffs and people watchers. We had fun walking along the boardwalk and watching the boats and we had a treat with a fantastic sunset. Great shops and restaurants in the area. Hard to park so be careful.

The Malecon was across the street from my rental. It was a constant parade of interesting characters, adorable dogs, and horses. The views from the Malecon are stunning and the sunsets take your breath away.
