I visited here with my two youngest children aged 8 and 11. They had a fantastic afternoon , I was very impressed that there were lots of hands-on things for them to try/do. Quite a mixture of themes here, no danger of getting bored, they especially loved all the gemstones and minerals downstairs and the Egyptian exhibit upstairs. We were... More

Visited this museum whilst on a short break to Cornwall. Interesting exhibits, especially the Egyptian which I find a fascinating period in history. No museum is complete without the odd mummy or two so was happy to see they had one in peaceful residence and also signs up asking visitors to be respectful and not take photos. Didn't use the... This hidden gem in the city centre of Truro is always worth a visit. Interesting exhibits and great things for children to be involved in .

A visit to Truro museum should be on everyone's itinerary. The range of items on show is truly amazing. From the Iron Age to Victoriana. Gold discovered locally, pottery, horse drawn carriages and much more.

Stopped in late lunch time, after having a disappointing visit to the cathedral and wished we had spent the day here instead. Greeted warmly by a lovely young woman who asked if we'd been before, then provided us with a map and some suggestions of how to make our way around to see the exhibits. We set off and immersed... The museum has been opened for many years and holds items of Cornwalls history from pre-history to modern. The minerals gallery is particularly impressive with beautiful rock samples from Cornwalls rich mining history

I came along with the family for the excellent Bloodhound SSC talk and display and found the RCM bursting with new things and refreshed old gems.
