The climate here is wonderful, very suitable for picnics. I haven't been to many places in Vietnam, but I think Tam Dao is the place with the best climate. Highly recommended to everyone.

We have been traveled to this place for a night but It is a disappointed trip. First the road was dangerous, the town is dirty and under a lot of construction, the foods are nothings special and expensive, the hotel is small and expensive too,
I will never come again

Although located 50 km from the capital Hanoi, Tam Dao has a temperate climate.
Cool all year round. From Hanoi to Tam Dao, follow the Highway Hanoi - Lao Cai and turn to Vinh Phuc province.

Tam Dao has beautiful scenery and is a national park so it has diverse flora. This is also a short-term resort with specialties as green vegetables and chickens and fish

For the second time, we tried to visit this “national park.” I think that, perhaps, it’s more of a national preserve and not a park in the sense of the US national Park system. There is one road that dead-ends after about 1 mile at a bear sanctuary which is only open to visitors twice per month. So, we turned around to ask for more information. The entry booth was closed so we left.

This is a great choice for a day out, make sure you take comfortable shoes and a hat, keep an eye out for all the beauty that the park has to offer.

This has good weather and atmosphere but infrastructure not really well developed. Street is not only narrow but also messy with lots of small construction

Tam Dao is the best town of Vinh Phuc province. It near Hanoi and has the cool weather in summer! It’s far from Hanoi 80km.

But thats about it. Food is mediocre, place is super crowded and everything is very expensive. Me and my wife had a super simple lunch, with fried chicken and broiled su su (a local delicacy) and it costed us 250k VND. When we got to Tam Dao it was 6 degrees celcius comparing with Hanoi downtown. So if you have free time and nothing specific on your to do list then Tam Dao is worth a visit.
If you wanna look down from mountain top Quan Gio cafe is a good place, but be warned, drinks are mediocre and expensive. We had a glass of lemonade and yogurt.
Would i recommend this place? Probably not, but if you have nothing else to do then go.

I visited the town of Tam Dao but I didn't make it to the National Park. I did hike and walked up the many stairs to the Buddhist Temple. I was there for the day. Beautiful, friendly people with many places to eat. I would go back and stay a weekend.
