On a recent bus tour of the Scottish Highlands, the staircase was one of the stops on our trip. Even though as we arrived it started to rain, it was still worth the trip with an umbrella in hand. To walk the length of the...More

Visited on a sunny day in October and you could have been excused thinking it was the middle of summer. Walked up one side and down the other, taking in the breathtaking views on the way down. Unfortunately there was no boats utilising the locks...More

It's a series of 8 locks for boats to go down. If your in the area, it's interesting but not to go out of your way to see. It connects Lock Ness to the sea. There are walking paths on either side of the locks...More

9 locks to get through but there's a cafe to sit and watch the boats to wear their way through. We sat and watched a beautiful boat go from the bottom of the first lock to the top all in the comfort of the cafe...More

Easy to walk up and down and once at the top you realise how high it is. Little information there so not really an attraction. Nice hotel next to it with friendly staff and some good pictures of the locks.

We visited this afternoon, missed seeing the boats go through but It is an impressive construction. I’ve never seen so many locks at one point! Very well maintained, easy to walk around on the steps right beside the locks or alternatively there is a flat...More

Can't believe we nearly missed it. We drove passed it the first day on the way to Glen Finnan viaduct with out seeing it. The car park is at the bottom of the series of locks and there is a nice coffee shop if its...More

I'm not sure but it is easy to find. If you are heading east from Fort William it is the first turn right after the bridge over the lochs, then on your right about 200 meters up the road.

There is a car park at the bottom lock that will hold loads of cars. Don't worry there are lots of places very close by.

I don't know if the town is on a regularly scheduled coach line. It would seem large enough to be on one, but I simply am guessing. I would check with some coach lines and find out from them. Good luck.
