- BoatingGirl71 contributionsWe had a great timeThe four of us rented a 22' Boston Wailer with twin 90hp motors. We are experienced Michigan boaters with a 37' boat. With that being said, the motors performed flawlessly. These boats are older models. The railings need some repairs as there were missing screws & missing hardware. There are no seat cushions, but we used the safety throw cushions to sit on. The bimini top & poles were adequate and gave us some protection from the weather. We were happy with the boarding ladder, platform & railing. Those were secured to the boat nicely. There were 2 anchors, 1 at the bow & 1 at the stern. The anchor lines could use replacing as they were frayed. We used both anchors to keep our boat stationary in the winds and over at Chat N Chill. The bildge pump seemed to be newer & did a great job in getting rid of water in the stern. There were ample newer life jackets & a couple throw cushions. We purchased ice from Minns at $5 a bag. We brought our own backpack coolers, beer, water, etc.., although there was a really nice 70-90qt Yeti type cooler on board. Minns is the best bang for the buck. We checked all the competitors & they were alot more. You will save alot if you book ahead of time. Walk in price was $100 more for our size boat. The gals in the office were efficient, helpful & gave us maps of the area we could boat in. They explained everything very clearly. We took the extra insurance for $12 which is 100% worth it. The boats are real easy to operate. It was nice to go out & explore on our own.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 7 December 2023
- Dana BOlympia, Washington29 contributionsReal island life experience. Easy peasy to rent.We rented a Boston Whaler. The staff here are so efficient and helpful. It was a total breeze. they do provide coolers and have ice on site. We have a boat in the US however a boating license or experience is not required. I'd just be cautious about low tide and all of the sand bars. We moored at a buoy at Fowl Cay - great snorkeling. Better than expected. We anchored at chill n chat and moored at a buoy at the mystery hole/cave. We stopped at starfish beach... a bit underwhelming... but fine. Saw a few small starfish. The staff provide a map that shows where to go. We also saw the channel markers for an additional snorkel stop.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 March 2024
- Nicole70 contributionsSo Much FunThis is a must- do in Exuma. The people at Minn’s are very nice and pointed out some great spots for us to visit and the best time to go (based on the tides). There were times that we had an entire beach to ourselves and were able to go on small hikes to see the ocean side of the islands. The water is so clear, we saw turtles, and starfish, and stingrays, and sand dollars and more. We were in Exuma to celebrate our 20th anniversary and loved having our day-dates out on the beautiful water. Now we want to bring the kids back so they can explore, too! Thank you, Minn’s!!Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 April 2024
- sunandbeachSt.LouisImperial, Missouri370 contributionsA must doWe rented a 17" Boston Whaler for just the 2 of us. The staff here are nice and helpful. It was a really easy process. They do provide coolers for free and have ice on site to buy. From the map they provided of the harbor we went to the some of the sand bars - which were AMAZING and went to Chat and Chill and other spots along Stocking Island. Just a fun day overall and definitely a MUST if you are in Exuma.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 May 2024
- Relax131668722021 contributionFun Day on the Water in ExumaAbsolutely wonderful day on the water with Minn’s boat rental. The staff was extremely patient and helpful with a first time boat driver. “Chuck” did an outstanding job providing customer service. Once on the water, we visited many wonderful beaches, snorkeling sites and lunch on Stocking Island. The return process was smooth and simple. When on Exuma, I highly recommend Minn’s Boat Rental!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 July 2024

The day we rented a boat was one of our favorite days of our vacation. It had been a while since I drove a boat but the staff gave me a refresher course and we were off and running. This is a fantastic way to experience the Bahamas, sand bars, isolated beaches and great fishing and snorkeling spots your only limitation is your imagination. Great comparable pricing, the boats are a little older but in good shape and we had no issues on the day of our rental

Minns is kind of the only show in town if you want to rent boats to take out on your own on Exuma but where a monopoly sometimes means bad service, this is absolutely not the truth with Minns! They are wonderful people who take great care of their customers. They will give you as much information as you want or need and while they are protective of their boats, they allow those with experience to have a little latitude. We rented from them six or seven weeks over the years and never had a problem with one of their boats or dealing with the staff. What more can you ask!

The island is amazing but we decided this time we'd explore a little more by water and Minn's boats are perfect for this. Clean, super friendly staff and helpful. Would highly recommend you have some knowledge of boating, current, tides, etc. Just smart boating.

We rented a boat from Minns 2 different days while we were in Exuma, and both times were well worth the money. Everyone working there is helpful and nice. They show send you with maps and emergency equipment in case something happens. They give you a quick lesson before you head out, so even a novice boater should be ok. Check out all the islands up and down the bay. You need to 100% stop at Chat N’ Chill and the sandbar near Man-O-War Cay at low tide. There is also a path at Starfish Beach to hike over Stocking Island over to the Atlantic side of the island. There is a range of boat sizes for any size group and I think they are all or mostly Boston Whalers.

My wife and I reserved a boat about 2 months out from our visit. We had a private taxi drop us off. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We rented the 17ft Whaler which was perfect for just the two of us. They give you a cooler and a bag of ice for any drinks you bring, along with maps of the harbor. We brought our own blue tooth speaker and snorkel gear. The harbor was easy to navigate around with the map, I highly recommend Man O War Cay it was out of this world. We got the boat around 9 and had it back by 4:30. It was enough time to see everything but could have defiantly stayed out longer had we been able to. Boats are due back before 5. I would do this again in a heart beat. Chat N Chill was awesome.

We love renting Minns boats. They are so easy to work with, and having a boat allows us to explore places we can’t get to by car, including the St. Francis, Chat n Chill, and Peace n Plenty’s Beach club. We found a secluded little beach to hang out on, and one of our guys caught a nice fish near there. Low tide was supposed to be around 5:30, so we went to Man o War sandbar last and enjoyed a nice walk there (boats are due back by 5 pm). Maximum people per boat is 8. They open at 9am. They give you a map that shows some snorkel spots and other sights. Full tank of gas to start, and you pay for the gas you use. Boats are whalers with a Bimini top, ladder on the back if needed. You also get a walkie talkie in your “toolbox”. Definitely a highlight for us!

We are not evaluating the experience itself, because renting one of these boats is a very good idea and should definitely be considered. At this point we are evaluating the employees. The employee who was responsible for the briefing behaved really badly towards us. When he saw us, he didn't say hello, rolled his eyes and asked us scornfully whether we had any boating experience. My husband explained to him that we had once driven an electric boat. That was precisely why he should have given us a detailed briefing. However, he was just annoyed and gave brief explanations that I couldn't make sense of. Despite the rude behavior, my husband remained calm and managed the boat very well all day. We had a lovely day and returned the boat undamaged. We were friendly and open towards the employees, even though we were treated with arrogance and presumptuousness. We would not book here again because the behavior was simply unprofessional.

We had a wonderful time exploring the Elizabeth harbor, visiting different sand dollar beaches, relaxing at chat n chill, swimming with sting rays, snorkeling in the beautiful beaches. However, the lady at the front desk was very rude. She spoke way too fast and left no time for questions. When we did try to squeeze in a question she answered in a rude/condenscending manner. Next time, I would go with a different company just to avoid interacting with her. Everyone else was great.

Coming to Great Exuma for many years, and visiting Minn’s Watersports is always part of our trip. Staff is friendly and helpful. Boats are all clean and in good condition, safe. Boating areas are well mapped out for safety. So many beautiful sights, restaurants to visit by boat, activities like snorkeling, diving, swimming or relaxing. This is a must-do for anyone who loves the beautiful blue waters of Exuma. Enjoy!

Bonjour, comment vous rejoindre depuis nassau ? Faut-il obligatoirement le permis de bateau ? Et quels sont les prix ? Merci
Written 15 September 2019
No boat license is necessary. The waters are easy to navigate as long as you stay within the boundaries.

Minna rents it's boat for use in the harbor are of Great Exuma. You can rent boats at Staniel Cay. Some villas will have a boat included or for an additional cost that you can use other places.
Is that what you are asking?

Hello, I am wondering about the minimum age requirement to rent a boat. Is it 18 or 25?
Written 15 May 2019
To the best of my knowledge it's 25, just like car rental.
Our daughters weren't able to rent a car or a boat last time they were there.
