We stopped here for gifts and some local artwork during our recent visit. Great store with a lot of unique things - both high end and kitschy. Some of the things could be purchased at the straw market just down the road for cheaper but there were many great things in this shop. We purchased a large ceramic tile with... More

The only shop open during a national holiday in Great Exuma. It has beautiful handcrafts, sarongs, bijoux and the place itself is really nicely set in the center of Georgetown. It was open even when the Straw Market was closed.

The shop had a lot of locally made items. Great place to pick up souvenirs and gifts to bring home. They had everything from cards to pottery to clothing.

Loved this shop - stocked with local artists. Shopping is limited in Exuma - either the straw market (tourist souvenirs) and this lovely little shop. It doesn't take long to go through it - but it was great to see the local wares.

You are kidding, it's ranked #2 thing to do in Great Exuma! We browsed there for ten minutes and walked out. We don't see anything spectacular. It's only a souvenirs shop! We wouldn't make a special trip there, only when we needed to go downtown for groceries and gas.

Whether you want locally handcrafted items or souvenir type items, this is the shop for you. The shopkeeper is the artist that makes the hand thrown pottery. The shop also has items crafted from conch shells and jewelry made of conch shells and sea glass. These are made by a local artisan. All of the locally made items are very... More

We visited the shop because of the recommendations here and were disappointed. There are a few nice handmade souvenirs, but mostly expensive clothes and typical tourist supplies. The little market just across the street next to the government building was much nicer in our opinion. There the women, who actually make the jewelry, baskets and bags, sell them themselves!

Sandpiper has many great items including hand-crafted art, paintings, sketches, pottery and carvings. They have a wide selection of shirts and tops for both men and woman, nicer things than what you would find at the straw market in town.

So very nice to see local art works available in the Bahamas and Sandpiper provides just that. Loved the BW images taken by local legend Basil Minns and was so very fortunate to meet him and have him sign my prints.
