One of the best things about this museum is the army of volunteers who are so warm and enthusiastic. They are keen to tell you all about the exhibits and adapt their style for young and old. The place isnt huge but it is crammed with things to see. My young boys loved the simulators to play on and the... More

The staff are volunteers and are so knowledgeable about the exhibits. A lot of the volunteers are ex-RAF and they can also talk about their experiences whilst they were on active duty. Totally charity/donation based, they do offer membership to the museum if you want to visit more than once in a year and all the proceeds do go straight... More

Lovely museum with very knowledgeable guides. There are some activities that kids would enjoy but to be fair this is a nerd heaven. World speed records, SOE and Douglas Bader all here. Went with elderly parents - fairly accessible, just a couple of tiny steps.

Thank you. In passing, we entertained some 40 primary school visits in 2016 and expect an increased number of requests this year. More

Had a wonderful afternoon in the museum! A lot bigger than you realise! Need a good couple of hours to take most of it in! Would highly recommend the little NAAFI Tea Room! Lovely lady, very friendly and a lovely cup of coffee!!

We had a brilliant four hours visiting this absorbing museum which is full of RAF and WW11 memorabilia, we started in the large Hall which houses full size aircraft of all ages and then on to the smaller Halls which have so much fascinating material including detailed exploits of some truly brave men, including of course Douglas Bader who flew... I have long known about this musuem, but had no idea how big it was or how good. My husband loves all things aeronautical, so it wasn't hard to persuade him to visit, and we were both impressed by the very helpful staff, the great displays and information. Two minor things, the main hangar was even colder than I expected,... More

I am glad you enjoyed your visit despite the lack of heating in our main hangar. Sorry about the tea room being closed at 3.00 pm - this will be addressed. More

A great little airplane museum that we stumbled on when visiting an area we know nothing about. The hanger was really neat and well organised with plenty of local history on view. The staff were very knowledgeable and engaging - they made it extremely interesting. The café wasn't bad either selling an assortment of homemade cakes. Brilliant experience.

Thank you. We open again on Wednesday, 1st February following our customary 2-month winter closure for refurbishment and the introduction of new exhibits. More

When you visit a major museum or exhibition it can be very impressive, well organised, well presented - but sometimes a bit impersonal, Tangmere has more of an amateur, more personal touch that makes for a very interesting visit.

This museum has grown and gone from strength to strength, an Amazing knowledable group of volunteers along with their manager makes this historic airfield so interning. It seemed to appeal to all our family variable age group, lots of excitement from our young grandsons. They were able to get up close the planes and really enjoyed the experience of the... More
