The place is beautiful and is well preserved, varied shops with souvenirs and one with local art (with very beautiful things). We went during the day that was empty and few shops open, we came back in the evening with more shops open and live music. We sat in a restaurant that had a table available - Comilão - the worst food I have ever tasted in my life so far. I asked the waiter if the chef could cook.

The Port of the Boats is relatively well taken care of. In it there is the Sea Museum of the Parnaíba Delta, craft shops and an art gallery, space for events, restaurants (O Comilão and Dr. Camarão) and a deck on the river Igaraçu, which overlooks the Simplício Dias bridge. And in the middle of it all, a beautiful cashier...

The Porto das Barcas (Boat Port) is the best part of the historical part of the city. This site is well preserved and very colorful. The site has many touristic agencies (if you need to book an excursion) and several stores that sell local souvenirs.

Colorful historic area, well maintained, clean, and safe. Artisanal stores line the place and there is a lot of space for public events. Much is empty and the "art" is not very interesting. Cute place to stroll around, especially when it cools down at night.

Porto das barcas is a pleasant place to spend no more then a couple of hours. Some nice shops and a very interesting marina museum. It is close to the center and Parnaiba town doesn't offer so much more.

We had just a 1 hour stop and it was nice. The historical center was great. There are a bunch of nice souvenirs and handicrafts shops in the old harbor buildings. Nice for a short visit!

In my humble opinion there's not much to do here. It's hot, dry and windy. There are very few artisanato shops, no open restaurants, and a good deal of infrastructure needing repair. Hardly worth your time and effort.

A wonderful sunset, with some stores to buy souvenirs and places to eat.
Few options of restaurants...

It's a very easy place to reach and very rewarding when it comes to how rich it culturally is. The architecture of the houses and the local market is very charming and it keeps the simplicity of the old times.

No narrative or video compares to the experience of seeing the floating of the guaras! Beautiful scene! Very nice trip!
