Very characteristic location, high quality wines, very good cold cuts and cheese platters, fast, friendly and competent staff (an extra 👍🏽 for Stefano). Super honest bill, anyone who says it's expensive probably usually goes to the station bar. We will definitely be back

We have tried this winery more than once, when we come to Teglio no one will take away an aperitif here.
Excellent service, kind and friendly waiters.
The wines from the cellar are really good, once we even bought a bottle of the wine we liked.
They bring a small tray with some appetizers: cold cuts, cured meats and bread.

The winery produces nearly 1 million bottles a year and has won multiple awards. Visitors are free to visit the fermentation containers and the rest of the winery.

I first went in September 2018 and when I walked in a year and 3 days later for a second visit, the guy behind the counter looked up and immediately recognised me! Both times I had a tasting of 4 wines after a discussion about what I was looking to get out of the tasting, and a small board of cheese and cured meats to accompany them. I'd certainly go back again when next in the area.

Approximately 2 hours drive away from Como, is this peaceful and relaxing place for wine tasting. We got little introduction for the process of wine making at Nera winery, and after that, wine tasting with 5 of their wines and some snack.
They gave good presentation of each wine, they had English explanations for all the wines and they gave as all the time we needed to before serving next wine. 3 hours went by quickly and of course I couldn't resist on buying one bottle of their great wines with me.
It was great activity for a rainy day, since everything happened indoors. Beautiful landscapes were crowning the whole trip!

You can take the train from Milan or Lake Como area to Sondria (the end of the line) then take a short taxi ride to Chiuro (or see if the winery can collect you). We took a taxi and translator to get there from Varenna but really could have saved a lot and done it ourself (train is only a few Euros). The tour itself is under 20 Euros I believe (we spent much more doing it with the taxi/translator option). We met up with a group of travelers from UK who we were combined with so that we could all enjoy an English language tour of the facility. We had a blast together (probably because we all drunk quite a lot! It's a good tour. Unlike the tours in California, expect to spend a longer time and only do the single winery. We enjoyed 5 tastings of Nebbiolo red wines, all different, all delicious. And they didn't hold back on the pouring - we finished about a bottle each I think. And they served a lovely spread of local cheeses and meets. They do not offer gluten free crackers (we brought our own from the hotel). Good either sunny or rainy since it is all inside (a shame that you do not go out into the vineyards but that's the only downer).
I gather this place is also a wine (and coffee) bar too, but we went for the full tasting experience and tour. Bar area is off the lobby/retail area.

A wide range of local wines on offer with the possibility of tasting several of the more popular. Ask for the wooden boxes, or have them expertly wrap your purchases for safe transport in your suitcases. Beware : if you do not buy a couple extra bottles to drink wherever you are going for your holiday or you will end up unpacking the lot and taking nothing home ! Our favorites are the rich Sassorosso and the powerful Sforzato.
There are a number of limited edition cheeses and meats from small local producers. You will not find these on sale elsewhere and will be tempted to keep some in your hotel room bar fridge for those naughty in-between snacks.

we had the 5 wine degustation tasting that included 1 white and 4 red Nebbiolo wines from the area as well as a tasting plate of meat and cheese (€15). The hostess explained every wine tasting with very good English. We really enjoyed the tasting and ambience.

Beautiful suggestive experience in the vineyard with tasting of 4 reserve wines, very competent and kind guy But this justifies a total expense of 65 euros each. Seems a little much with all due respect to the cellar,
We are not from BORGOGNO where for the same amount they opened bottles of vintage Barolo.
