About
It is one of the most spectacular wineries in Campania: you can walk astonished between tens of thousands of bottles arranged in recesses extracted from the stones walls. You can see everywhere the wine oaks where they make the great wines of Taurasi, such as Macchia dei Goti, Salae Domini and Tauri, perfect. The founder, Antonio Caggiano, has been for years a passionate and enthusiastic photographer travelling all around the world: from the cold of the Artic lands to the African desert, from the United States to South America and eventually from the old family vineyard (Salae Domini) to the works for the realization of his winery that began in 1990. Antonio decides to found his company pushed by an irrepressible desire to give voice to the history and traditions of his loved Taurasi. The distinctive trait of his spectacular winery is soon clear walking by the numerous fascinating small tunnels: it is not just a place in which barrels, bottles and vats are stored but a real museum of the viticulture. In every corner, on each wall and in the multiples recesses obtained from the stones walls, it is possible to see typical tools and utensils used by the winemakers. Together with the tools and the barrels, you can find a variety of wood, glass and stone artworks, some realized by Antonio himself and some others given as a gift by artist friends. They make the atmosphere even more evocative. Nowadays the company is run by Antonio’s son Giuseppe, called Pino by everyone who, helped by his father, thanks to a meticulous work in the vineyard and a passionate and precise wine interpretation, contributed to the achievement of a qualitative and characteristic style that has marked Antonio Caggiano’s company as a big interpreter of the Irpinia wines.

Beautiful visit to the cellar. Excellent lunch with wine tasting, with appropriate pairings for each dish. Caring and attentive room service; the glasses never remained empty. Warmly recommended. Compliments

My husband and I booked a wine tasting tour but we had no idea how wonderful this place would be. Gorgeous location to say the least. The tour was guided by the owners son. He took us down into the many cellars where they ferment the Taurasi wine. Taurasi wine has to ferment a minimum of 3 years so the cellar is full of barrels and bottles. We learn a lot about the history of the vineyard and Taurasi region. This winery was rebuilt after the earthquake in the 1980's. After the tour we had a tasting of several of their white and red wines. Everything we tried was top notch. You can tell they take pride in their vino. It was so good that we purchased 12 bottles. As we were paying the owner Antonio came out of his office and personally signed our wood vino boxes. This was a wonderful treat. The tour took us to the farm house for lunch and we enjoyed traditional Italian food. I will definitely bring family and visitors back!

We enjoyed our tour of this unique cellar, built by a father & son engineer & architect team. It is set in beautiful Italian countryside and the owners are welcoming and gracious. The wines were very nice. Worth the trip.

Extraordinarily DELICIOUS wines. Very affordable.

We shipped a half-case of the Taurasi home to Colorado for a very reasonable price.

Antonio and his son couldn't be more charming.

The cellar tour was stunning. The most fascinating and magical cellars I've ever seen.

The labyrinth of cellars leads to an interesting museum and then to the state-of-the-art production facility.

This one is well worth going out of your way for.

This is one of the leading wineries in the Taurasi area, and its wines have received multiple accolades. On the outskirts of the town, it sits on the top of a slope, overlooking an vast valley. The modern structure, made of local stone offers its main floor at the top, and the winery below occupies several levels. The shop and wine tasting area is adjacent to a display of art by Antonio Caggiano, a prolific painter, with a few attempts at sculpture from old vines. His paintings are very good, although there is no recognizable and unique style. The wine tour was incredibly disorganized: although we had scheduled a private tour, we waited for almost an hour, only to find out the the person who was to be our guide would not come in that day, so we were shepherded to a more generic tour in Italian. If you visit, enjoy the scenery and the wines and bring lots of patience.

We scheduled this private wine tour while we were staying on the Amalfi coast - so glad we did. This is a small vineyard, who has purposely kept their production small. The owner is onsite, and his art work and inventions are on display.

Once you arrive you feel quite at home and our guide took us through their amazing cellar and showed us the production line. The wines are fantastic and reasonably priced and can be shipped to the US.

The location is gorgeous, the building itself is old and new at the same time. Nicely done!

The owner was an architect who has been retired for a few years, owned a vineyard and designed and built his own cellar, making wine, storing it and drinking it. We had the pleasure of seeing a lot of history in his house/museum, like all the lightshades, chairs tables etc were made from old barrels. The cellar was built into some rocks which helped keep it cool. It took us about 2hrs to finish the tour - I could have done it again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. We then sat down and each sampled his best red and white wines - oh, the smell and taste were exquisite. He was a charming man, over 80 but sill wanders round sort of supervising his son.
Recommend this to everyone even if you don't drink.

Antonio Caggiano is a treasure of Taurasi. He also makes one of the best Taurasi wines in the business. In fact in 2010 his Taurasi won the national pride for the best red of Itsly beating out an Amarone. This visit was so unlike wine tasting experiences in the states which often feel formal and impersonal. Antonio is 80 years old and he's still rocking. Great wines. Great visit. Great things to see while you're there. I'll go back sometimes, anytime.

We did a small group tour, followed by a tasting & lunch. The cellars were amazing! Beautiful, yet very functional...not just a "show" cellar. Close to the end of the cellars was a nice & small antique museum of wine related items. We got to try 7 wines while they explained the notes and some pairings while sitting with inside or outside. Then we walked over to the house to have an amazing (and large) fresh Italian meal outside with an amazing view. Not sure if they will accommodate just anyone for lunch, as we were on an organized tour...but well worth asking. This is a highly recommended event.
