Attractive views of the Mekong River and across to Laos, with majestic mountain in the background. There are many shops at the site also, and it looks like it could be crowded on weekends (at least after the pandemic passes), but when we were there, only a few visitors were milling about. We bought a few items to try to inject some cash in the local economy.

A nice place one to visit in Chiang khan. You can walk in the water to closely to indulge the scenery at the beach or rent the boat to cruise around for 30 mins or 1 hrs.

I hated the place.
This is a typical Thai tourist trap.
Vendors, lottery ticket sellers, concession stalls, loud music, overcrowded, limited parking; it has the lot! (when I was there).
I only stayed for 2 photos and abandoned the place.

I get the impression that this is the kind of place that Thai love for eating and relaxing. I found the food typical Issan and Thai and just average, but you can sit with a nice view of the river
The market lane is pretty good and well-priced and the park with the archer statue is also good. You can walk across the almost white sand but surprisingly there was no one swimming on the river bend
Sadly, the car park and the place in general is a bit of a rubbish heap.

It is ok to kill your time since it is just 10-15 min drive from Chiang Khan.
You can enjoy local food sitting on Maekhong river bank.
Don’t miss deep fired of freshwater shrimp and caramelized coconut! There are three grade of coconut, A,B, and C. I do recommend only grade A.

As legend tells, there was a hunter hunting a buffalo ... in the end he died and fell headlong like a giant into the river, making up the few rapids that you see nowadays.
Of course there's lots of (Thai) tourists, school classes.
You can ride the bike from Chiang Khan on a special bike lane along the river - most beautiful.

One of Chiang Khan’s riverfront viewpoint with the backdrops of Xanamkhan, Vientiane District, Laos. Located 8km east of Chiang Khan. There are bicycle lane by the Mekong River front until the Chiang Khan Walking Street. Kaeng Khut Khu is at a bend of the Mekong River and with many islet which are visible during the dry season from November to May and the rest of the months it is submerged in water. A Buddhist temple Wat Tha Kaek has a few original show house of the late monks very well preserve and beside the main hall at the car park some souvenirs and handicraft and a handful of restaurant selling Thai dishes by the riverfront. On my 2011 visit there far more stall along the river front than it is now, before there were no bicycle lane was built. Most of the stall which sells the coconut delicacies we are all line along the river front. The most popular dishes here were the Khung Ten (Dancing Shrimp) - fresh water shrimp which was served live on the bowl still jumping from the bowl and Khung Nawn (Sleeping Shrimp) - crispy deep fried shrimp in mash egg. I can't see it here anymore but can get it at the Chiang Khan Walking Street in the evening.

They have a wide array of normal tourist stuff for sale, and some food. The fresh coconut candy is worth trying, as well as the brown sugar praline type candy.
You do have a nice view of the Mekong, and Lao, as well as boat tours.
