Based on Tripadvisor reviews, we chose to go to Lascaux II despite Lascaux 4 being opened. When we drove pass by Lascaux 4, I thought that we may have made a mistake and that maybe Lascaux 4 would have been better. But we loved our...More

We were travelling south and used this as a break in the journey and I'm glad we did. OK. it's not the original but the replication is superb and the original needs to be preserved. There are not many English tours so we made sure...More

20,000 years ago! The term cave man is not what we think it is given the quality, standard and content of these drawings and paintings. Given they need to preserve the originals this tour is a copy they have done it in a sympathetic way...More

The 1hr guided tour of the (excellent) replica cave was a challenge for our 4yr old but once the hand held tablet guides were activated he spent nearly 2hrs collecting animals for his cave painting. With programs for different ages, the whole family can discover...More

This cave (Lascaux II) is located adjacent to the original cave. The painting in the cave date from around 17000 BCE. It is believed that after the drawings were completed the cave collapsed and was sealed until it was discovered in 1920. In order to...More

There's no ticket office in the center of Montignac anymore. You can buy Lascaux II tickets online or onsite.

We came to the new place last year and did not know about Lascaux 2, the original facsimile. Our guide, Tatiana, was immersed in the subject and clearly loved the content and the location. Her enthusiasm was infectious. The joy of "2" is that it...More

Ooh I'm struggling to remember precisely.. we both remember clear walkways underground but thought there were stairs at the exit? Best to get on their website and see , or ask the question... sorry I'm not much help.
I have been trying to book Prehistoric Pass Combination ticket for 2 adults (Lascaux Center, Le Thot, and Laugerie Basse); and 2 tickets for Lascaux II. I called Lascaux Center and was told to try again. I switched browsers as well and the same result. I tried 5X already. Each time, Semitour has taken my money. My bank has confirmed that they have approved each time. So now I paid 5X, but yet, no e-tickets. I keep getting an error message after it says that my transaction has gone through successfully. I called my bank, and my bank said that Semitour has to tell them that I should be charged 1X only and not 5X. I emailed Semitour 2X and have not got an answer. I called Lascaux Center, they said that they have no record of my purchase. I asked if they could help me with online booking but they said that they can't--but asked me to try again. I have tried 5X, been charged each time, so a total of (78+ X 5), and no e-tickets. What should I do? Thank you so very much! Helen
