For the first time, all of Lascaux is revealed. A complete new replica retraces the discovery of the famous decorated cave. But that’s not the end of the adventure: the entire site inquires into the position that Lascaux occupies in cave art and its relation to contemporary creation.

Lascaux IV is the place to visit which is the current version of the local cave art (there are previous versions which could be confusing) as this is the most interactive experience. I would recommend that you book in advance online for the English tour,...More

For those who are confused, as I was, Lascaux 2, the “original” replica, is still there at a different venue to this, and Lascaux 3 is a travelling exhibition. This is the latest museum, and expands on everything done in Lascaux 2. It’s richly informative...More

We booked the tour in advance in English and I'm really pleased we did. We had 2 teenagers with us and one is really interested in this period in history. They were both inspired. The paintings are amazing and incredibly well copied. Our guide was...More

This was a good tour with an excellent reconstruction of the cave and knowledgable guides. It is a little busy however and does quite have the intimacy of Lascaux II. Regardless this is an interesting visit and can help provide a little more information than...More

The guide was really nice and knowledgeable however several things spoilt the visit: - all guided tours are tightly spaced out. So because of a family who arrived late and took their time to collect their audio gear. The rest of the group was waiting...More

The French do it best. To get it out of the way immediately, this is a replica cave, the real cave is closed to the public to protect it. Does it matter? Yes of course, a bit, but it depends how much you mind the...More

Very good venue and facilities, space to cope with the crowds and very good staff. Children were well catered for and really engaged. A special thank you to our guide Christan who was so enthusiastic and motivated.

You have to take the tour and note, you don’t actually see the original art or cave, it’s a man made one matching exactly the original. Well worth the visit though.
