Its not an easy place to get to if you don't have a car. The toilets dont work and the place has not had any money spent on it for years - and it shows. "Run" if you can call it, by provincial government -...More

Visiting the Reserve is for the quiet and for just enjoying nature. It is a haven for hikers, short and long trails, even overnight trails. Also for cyclists as they can ride the 60 odd kilometres around the park on a tar road with beautiful...More

We went on a 10km hike in Suikerbosrand - beautiful vistas and landscape just outside of town. This is a challenging 10km hike with lots of climbing as you complete the circle route around the koppie. Well marked with green/yellow footprints and it's also well...More

Went with my team mate Vaandzile on instagram. We had an exercise and half and at the end it was worth it. As per previous reviews, the roads were clearly marked and it was easy to enjoy the scene, rest under the trees and the...More

The sun was shy this morning and a chilly wind greeted us as we left our residence. After a 40 minute drive, the friendly staff at Suikerbosrand welcomed us. We were provided with clear maps and an explanation of where to find the 4 km...More

Hiking loop is in fact around 12km, signage is good and path is clean. Do not expect to see a lot of wildlife. Probably a nice loop for cyclist but did not do it

No hunting allowed. But youll see only antelope, none of the big 5 is present there. Also if you are an avid bird watcher there is more than 200 species so take a hike in the reserve to view a lot of them.
