This is the tropical island you've been dreaming of. Awesome! Great snorkeling, too. Of course there is a big campsite or two, and lots of tourist boats, but it's still not crowded. And the snorkeling is great.

The best island destination I have ever been! Sleeping in tents in a super beautiful national park. There is only one food canteen but the food is very good and not expensive either. They have tofu and mushrooms and will make vegetarian variations of every...More

This pricey 1 1/2 hour boat trip, at the cost of $175 Aus dollars, which included transport to and back from our Khao Lak hotel, a bit of reproduction breakfast is really a very well organised cattle truck trip. It's a well oiled machine to...More

We stopped here for 90 minutes during a day trip to the Surin Islands. Lunch was touristy - chicken wings and rice - nothing special - and all the boats dock here so there are hundreds of visitors being fed from hot plates. Not bad,...More

If you love to snorkeling, this place is your destination. it will take almost 2 hrs by speed boat from the land to islands, which are paradise. I, myself, feel that this place is much better than Similan by scenery and great marine life, as...More

Surin Islands are more remote than the well-known Similan Islands, so tourist volumes are lower and there's a very natural feel. The National Park has a restaurant and tents for camping on the beach - such a beautiful view when you wake up. There are...More

Hi guys, For those who have stayed a night on the island, did you take a suitcase with you there? If not, how/where did you leave your suitcase? Thanks.

Hallo everyone! Which islands would you recommend between Surin and Similian? And is it true there're rats around camping sites? Thank you guys

Surin Islands are quieter than Similan Islands. No rats in the campsites at Surin. Don't know about the campsites at Similans.
Hi, We are 10 friends planning to go to surin island in November. I know, you already envy us :)). So, we don't want to book a tour that costs about 100 USD/pp, so we plan to buy a ferry ticket and camp in the surin, as you did. Questions (thanks for your answers): 1. It is possible to buy ferry ticket in the morning? (at 8 am for the 9 am leaving?) 2. It is possible to rent a tent directly on the island? They have enough tents? (we need 7) 3. How many days is better to stay? we plan to stay 3 days (2 nights) Thanks a lot, Mihai
