Maybe it’s not the safest cable in the country, but it’s a very nice experience, the staff is very nice and well organised.
go for it!

As some other reviewers note, there were 2 funiculars in Jardin but the big one is still closed as of Feb 2018. The little one, a home made type with a 10 HP motor carries up to 5 people over a really deep river gorge. It just takes a few minutes and you are in a wooden cage so you have to stand up to see over the slats. This one is accessed at the end of Calle 12 and costs 7000 COP return. Or, you can take it one way and do a hike back to town that takes about an hour. The trail is not too well marked and can be slippery if it has been rainy.

The cable car isn't that impressive itself but the view of the town is excellent and it is very inexpensive. Clearly something to do if you have a little free time. If this one isn't open their is an older more primitive one on the other side of town that is worthwhile and cheaper.

Surely it was a wonder, but sadly it is not functioning. Dang! Any chance you get in Jardin to catch more and better views, you take it!

This teleférico is located on Calle 8 and named Cable Aéreo Jardín. Sadly, it hasn’t been in service for a very long time. However, on the other side of this pueblo and located on Calle 12 is another teleférico called La Garrucha. For me, La Garrucha would be the teleférico to choose, even if both were in service. Lots of TripAdvisors have mistakenly posted their reviews and photos of La Garrucha here in the “Teleférico” (Cable Aéreo Jardín) folder. But, they were actually sharing about the teleférico called “La Garrucha.” You can always tell the difference in photos between the 2 because ironically the teleférico that is out of service is made of steel & glass and looks more modern. La Garrucha appears more antiquated and is wooden, open-air and colorfully reminiscent of the beautiful homes of Jardín. I will include photos in this review for you to see the difference. Finally, TripAdvisor has recently given users like us a folder for La Garrucha. I reviewed my experience in the “La Garrucha” folder and shared several photos for you to see. Have fun and I don’t think you’ve missed anything by this teleférico being out of service. Unfortunately, it’s sad for the locals because it used to give people on the other side of town a nice quick shortcut up to their work, to the coffee plantations and home.

We only went here because the other cable car was closed and I’m so glad we did! It was so cool making the crossing in this colourful little hut - my fear of heights had a momentary relapse on the way up, I actually advise standing up and having a proper look at the view rather than sitting down with obscure peaks through the slats. It cost 14k return per person and I thoroughly recommend having a freshly squeezed orange juice at the top (or a beer) we had a little stroll but didn’t go too far! Great way to spend a lazy hour or two!

I hiked up the road/trail to the scenic lookout. It was a nice walk. I took the teleferico back to town. It's a relatively quick ride, and saves an hour and a half walk back.

This touristic cable car works really good considering that it doesn't have the technology of Medellín's cable car system.
As I said it's just for the development of the tourism industry that's the main economy.
At the end of the journey (just one station) you'll be in one of the best view point with the town as landscape.
Totally recommended
It's just 6.000 colombian pesos. No more than 2.20 usd.

It was actually worth going up there for a great Lulo juice and some quiet calm time admiring the magic scenery.
