I have been here twice, will go again with my children next time. Gives great insight into Gotland's history. I thought it had very friendly staff, a really nice gift shop. Highly recommended while visiting Visby.

They have attempted to make this place as child friendly as possible. Do have a look at the amazing hordes of coins found in the area

We do not tend to visit museums very often on our trips but this one was well worth the small admission and time spent there. Very impressive collection of Gotland's and Visby' s history. And of course, if you are into Vikings, this the place...More

Really fascinating museum with informative exhibits ranging from the Bronze age to the 14th century. Although there were some gaps in the story which made it a little hard to follow, the museum was very educational and worth a visit. We missed the guided tour...More

It is good to know about the history of Visby and Gotland when exploring the area as a tourist. Also a great place to be during a thunderstorm and torrential rain.

It’s a lovely place to spend your time but if you don’t speak Swedish you are not so well off because the interactive stuff works only in Swedish. The third floor with its scarecrows is a bit creepy.

I took a bus from Stockholm to Nynäshamn and took a ferry to Visby. I know there are some flights that go to the island but it is cheaper to go by bus and ferry, though it does take longer.
