It is a small part of the ruins at Delos. The statues are not original, since so much of the ruins have been plundered. The excavations and renovations have brought the area back to a most worthwhile place to visit.

the real ones are in the delos museum- the ancient buildings are of greatr interest as are the sculptures of people which are far more realistic than the lions.

I just loved the avenue of lions when we walked past them. I could just imagine myself walking past them when the port existed. The lions on the site are replicas but you can see the original lions up close in the museum on site....More

Incredible place to visit and interesting to know the history behind these. The replicas are outside, but you are able to visit the original lions in the museum
