The bus trip from Iguazu is pretty long (about 4 hours), but the tour guide made up for it. Pretty funny tour guides and lots of insight on the mines and how they are acquired. Good thing to do if nothing else is available.

It was very interesting. We went to the inside of the mines and there were amethyst chunks on the walls that we could touch. There was also a gift shop. I bought an amethyst bracelet for 18 pesos. There was also other stones too though....More

Was $80 pesos each to learn about the mines. We walked down into several of the mines to see amethyst chucks imbedded in the mine walls, very interesting and a great place to buy cheap amethyst along with other gems. Guide spoke good English, enjoyed...More

My parents bought a stone - with certificate and promises about the quality of it. As my mom wanted to use it for neckless she got informed that the stone is made out of glass... so just don't buy anything - u'll be cheated
