Unmissable trekking tour in the vineyards
Jul 2020 • Couples
We did the trekking tour in the Vietti vineyards with Lucia, our amazing guide. It was by far the best tasting experience we have had (and we have done a fair share): being able to sip the wine immersed in the vineyards an awesome experience. A special mention goes to Lucia, who’s knowledgeable, sporty and fun!

Highlight of our Italy Tour
May 2019 • Couples
I have long wanted to visit the Vietti Winery. I made a reservation for 4 people months in advance. We were greeted by Lucia and started the tour on their private piazza overlooking the barolo vineyards in the valley below. What a spectacular view of the barolo region in Piemonte. Lucia led us on a guided tour down into the winery. We spent time in the fermentation room, cask room, barrel room and their bottling and production area. We returned to the sleek and modern tasting room where we were treated to a broad range of both white and red Vietti wines including some library wines. I especially enjoyed the barolo. barberesco, and barbera. Long known for their long aging barolos, their wine maker Luca Currado has developed an outstanding portfolio of barbera d'asti and barber d'alba wines too. I had no idea how wonderful a barbera could be until I tried some of Luca's newer efforts. I am now. on the hunt in the US for good sources his barbera. The true highlight of the trip was getting to meet Luca Currado who oversees the vineyards and is the wine maker. He was extremely warm and welcoming. He treated us like family and really made our visit extra special. I would recommend the Vietti Winery to anyone who comes to Piemonte to visit the barolo region. The region and the winery are Bellissimo!

Vietti Trekking/ Walk/ Hiking vineyard tour
Apr 2019 • Couples
Highly recommend to both wine novices and wine nerds to take this tour. My fiancee (wine novice) and I (wine nerd) booked through wine around the trekking/ walking of the vineyard tour. Our guide Lucia was fantastic and spoke very good English! We learned this was a brand new tour and we were the first to try. It did not disappoint! The tour consists of walking to nearby vineyards that Vietti owns and produces wine from. While in each vineyard, your guide will explain the the growth process, the site, and special characteristics of the wines. This is further enhanced by drinking a glass of wine that that specific site helped produce or fully produced (single vineyard wines) while in the vineyard. They built a few stone tables specifically for this tour to allow you to relax and take in the views and vines. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Vietti's history, general information of the area, and more specific questions regarding technical aspects....there is no bad question! Last, once back at Vietti's headquarters, you will take a tour of the cellar and the fermentation process as well. It was truly a wonderful experience and a great idea, I am surprised more producers do not offer this option. Would definitely do it again! Side note: the walking was not tough at all. Never flat but nothing worse than a slight slope. No climbing involved and I would guess all ages would be able to do this tour.

Stunning View, Great Wines
Sep 2018 • Couples
Long one of my favorite winer makers in Italy, I jumped at the opportunity to tour while on vacation in Alba. Reservations were simple to make online. €25 per person for a classic tasting plus full tour of production. The property is nestled atop Castiglione Falletto in the Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Absolutely stunning views from the courtyard peering directly at Diano d'Alba across the valley. The afternoon sun provides the best lighting for pictures you'll treasure forever. They offer four tours daily. I recommend later afternoon just for the lightning. Our tour guide Lucia was an absolute professional with extensive knowledge of history, geography, and Vietti family background. We lucked out as others in the group canceled and we ended up with a private tour. After an hour tour of the property, tasting begins. There are many varieties in the lineup and they will tailor to your pallet. My wife likes whites and I prefer bold reds and we both left happy. There is not the option of buying and shipping wine from here. For that, rely on one of the well established community Enotecas. This was my first onsite tour of a winery in Piedmont and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Highly recommend.

Great Tour and Tasting
May 2018 • Friends
Our party of four people along with another small family group of five made up the tour group for our wine tour and tasting. Our guide was super informative and friendly and related to our group in 3 languages: Italian, English and Spanish, without any difficulty at all! The tour was longer, more intimate and more in depth than other winery tours I have been on and the tasting experience at the close of the tour was far more informative and included more wines that I had expected. It was a very worthwhile experience for both the casual wine lovers as well as for the wine connoisseurs in our group.

Key winery in Castiglione Falleto and entire Barolo region
Apr 2016 • Business
I was honored to be part of a group visiting the Vietti winery and our friends Luca and Elena Currado. This is an important winery for a variety of regions and the wines they produce are benchmarks for the type in every category. If you have a chance to visit, do it. If you have a chance to enjoy their wines, drink them.
