Unlike the traditional Dargahs we visit in rest of India, this particular dargah on the east coast of Tamil Nadu is unique in its Sculpture, Design, culture and practices. If u are nearby Pondicherry, u may plan a visit to this Islamic Holy place. Food is of also excellent quality, dont forget to have the famours Nagore Halwa!!!

Walk-able distance from Nagore bus station, this place is worth to visit if you are seeking history, culture and architecture. All religions welcome. Offerings are flowers, sweatmeats and food, playing musical instruments like nadaswaram, flags and lighting lamps of ghee at the saint's tomb

It was a moving experience for me visiting this shrine. There was a positive feeling throughout the place. Very happy to learn more about the Darga and the people involved.

Right from the time one enters the holy place, one is forced to part with money over various stages. One is not allowed to enter unless money is shelled out. There are no instructions or boards available to guide you.

Just 6 km from Nagapattinam, the Nagore Dargah known as the Mecca of South India is a holy place of Muslims but visited by Hindus and Christians also. Visited nagore dharga last week with family members. Entered dharga and pray on our own. Don't buy any pooja items from shops. Pray on your language, no need to go with the so called priest. If you wish to enter the shine pay Rs 5 and go through. The shine open 4 times a day, so see the board in... More

Beware of the touts and, in general, everyone there. They will separate your group, do some ritual and demand that you donate 1000 rupees (or a bigger sum) for the coming festival celebration. Spoke to tourists there and they too were pissed off for being cheated in the name of something holy.
