About
Discover Regina Viarum, a winery located in the Ribeira Sacra (Lugo - Galicia) by the Sil River. Surronded by beautiful landscape with slopes of difficult access and with a mediterranean climate that make their wines a perfect interpretation of the 'heroic viticulture'.

While touring the wonderful Ribiera Sacra region we stopped off to take a lovely tour of Bodegas Regina Viarum, which is situated in the most fantastic location overlooking the whole valley. It's a very good tour, with good details & then tastings of several excellent wines. After the tour it's possible to take your wine out to the glass fronted terrace which has fabulous panoramic views of the river far below, endless terraces & lovely unspoilt places off into the distance. Well worth a visit!

We visited with friends on a Monday. The bodega was closed but we were given a quick tour. The staff were really helpful.

Bad experience at Vértigo Restaurant, at Bodegas Regina Viarum
On September 12 we took a guided tour of the Wineries: the wonderful location, the well-kept winery, the very pleasant guide. Nothing negative. Drinking a wine on your terrace, a pleasure for the senses. Recommendable.
The mistake was eating at the Vértigo Restaurant: we ordered the Camellia menu, the three-course one, expensive and scarce, we felt cheated. The most annoying thing was the attitude of the waiter who served us, cold and distant. We ordered a Godello, he served us only once and took the bottle; When we were finishing dessert, he appeared with her without further ado, to serve us what was left.

We recently visited the Regina Viarum winery with the expectation of enjoying an authentic experience close to the world of wine. However, our visit felt more like a museum tour than an immersion in the reality of a fully functioning winery. Although the Guide’s explanation was correct and well-founded, the lack of access to the actual cellar facilities left us feeling superficial. We could not really experience the production process or feel part of the wine environment.

In addition, we were surprised by the lack of information when purchasing tickets about the size of the group. On our shift, we counted up to 34 people, which made the visit a massive and unpersonal experience.

Regarding the tasting, it must be recognized that the wines offered were of good quality and the explanation about them was very complete. However, it struck us that the prices in the winery store were the same as in a supermarket, with the cheapest bottle at €18. To be a winery, we expected to find more competitive prices or some Special Offer.

In retrospect, something is learned, but unfortunately, it is not an experience we would recommend or repeat.

The enclave of the winery and the views of the river Sil are spectacular. The wine and the tasting very loose, it is very fight. If a wine is saved, it is godello wine.
For the price of the visit it should be noted that giving only peaks to eat with the wine is scarce to say nothing, they should give at least some sausage or nuts to accompany. We've ordered only 3 drinks and I don't even want to imagine the 5 drinks, you end up drunk.
On the other hand, those of us who have ordered 3 drinks invite you to leave. They should improve this. Our Guide has explained things well but has not been spectacular as read in the rest of the reviews.
That said, maybe the views. The wine is very rugged.

A very complete visit. Ana is a wonderful guide and at the end of the party the tasting of 5 wines on a terrace overlooking the Sil is well worth the entrance fee.

Very entertaining visit. The wine tasting was very good and the views of the winery were absolutely spectacular. Just suggesting that it would be nice if the groups were smaller
