An International Championship 18 hole, Par 72 course that is a challenging 7,345 yards from the Championship tees. The course has been designed to suit all levels of golfers where layout provides sweeping movement on the fairways and greens and features intricate bunker facing, native landscapes and wetlands. An iconic perspective with sweeping views of Khao Chee Chan, temples and mountains.

Chee Chan got a 4 star in my last year review. Having played badly in my last round, I decided to arrange another round this year here to see if it could potentially be 5 stars.

Gosh, 1 year had passed - the scenery and mountains views circling around this course is fantastic and second to none. Forget about Khao Keaw which I previously mentioned also had this kinda scenery (I supposed I was drunk and coupled with a bad score day that time), but Chee Chan's view is definitely top notch. Everywhere from the greens (which was lightning fast), fairways, bunkers and roughs were all in fresh green coloured despite not having much rain in Patts for few weeks.

Welcome gift of a Chee Chan towel were given to each golfer, which was good. It was also crowded on the King's birthday - public holiday but we were better valued in Chee Chan than Siam CC Plantation as we were allowed to tee-off as and when ready and caddies/marshall control the pace of our group very well. Groups of 3 were let to go first and our group of 4 were asked to rest 10 mins after 9 holes. This was much more acceptable and after the 9H break, there were no more groups chasing behind us thus ending our 18h in relaxed and memorable fashion.

First 9H of Chee Chan was challenging and long. Back 9 were much friendlier and enjoyable. Chee Chan truly impressed me this time with the course and its service. A must play in Pattaya and would definitely rank as one of the top courses in Thailand - giving Siam CC a good run for $$.

my group was bit apprehensive about a new course that had only opened in Dec 2018 but we were surprisingly amazed at the look and feel of the course and the clubhouse, everything was 5 star. Our group ranged from 8 to 22 handicap, playing from the blues course was challenging, long and very interesting, greens bit slow but not easy at all with number of ups & downs. Good addition to pattaya golf circuit, although it looks bit bare at the moment as trees haven't grown, as the course matures over the next few years it will definitely challenge Siam courses. Must play even now!

This new par 72 course (opened 2018) is just a short drive from the popular towns of Pattaya, Jomtien and Na Jomtien. It's very clear that substantial investment has been made to maintain this course to the highest possible standards. I played off the white tees which makes the 18 holes a total distance of some 6,520 yards. Low handicap and scratch golfers will enjoy the additional challenges of the playing off the black tees (7,345 yards). Green fees are at the top end of the scale for Thailand (on a par with the Thai and Siam Country Clubs) but discounts are available via social media (Facebook and LINE). My caddy was excellent. She spoke English to a reasonable level and read the greens well. The stimpmeter reading was 10 on the day that I played and it did take a while to get used to the pace of the greens but they ran true and were in excellent condition. The bunkers have beautiful fluffy sand that makes bunker shots just that little bit easier. There are water hazards aplenty and it's important to be mindful of the slopes on some fairways to avoid a watery grave.

I played this course with some mates on a recent golf trip and enjoyed the course. Challenging with the wind, but spectacular layout and scenery. Caddies were excellent with good English.

It’s expensive so best to play as part of a larger group and on a quiet day. Will be back.

The club house is first class, good locker room and good restaurant.
The course is very interesting, tricky greens with many subtle slopes.
Caddies did good job considering they have had limited time to learn the greens. They are very well trained on distances and pay attention to safe cart driving.

The kind of course you need to play more than once to really enjoy as easy to get approach shots where green is partially obscured.

They may have some issues going forward which in my opinion as below.

When the course settles down the greens will become harder and the slopes more pronounced. There are many greens with 2 or 3 tiers. They may end up with greens that are too difficult and have limited choice of pin positions. No one will enjoy when a good putt just misses and ends up ten feet past the hole.

The white tees are about 6500 yards and makes the course too long for the average recreational handicap golfer with many of the par 4's being too long to have a reasonable chance of getting on in regulation. Usually 6000-6200 is a good recreational length and I am not sure if they will be able to offer that the way the tee boxes are positioned.

Finally, this is the most expensive course in the area by some way. We had a " deal " but still cost BHT4400 on a Saturday for green fee , caddy and cart in low season.

There are many excellent courses in the area where even on a weekend the cost would be less than 3000. Maybe the owners know something I don't or the course is a rich owner's personal project but I cannot see Chee Chan surviving long on a commercial basis at these prices no matter how nice it is.

The View restaurant looks over the 18th green as is usual but faces directly into the sun in the afternoon. This means that apart from being very hot on the patio area outside the aircon area, the sun sets directly into your eyes as you look at the view.

If they put umbrellas on the tables this will likely obscure the view from inside the restaurant but they need a solution otherwise I don't think many will enjoy sitting outside in the afternoon and having to constantly shade their eyes. Bit of a basic error here

I wish them luck

Our group of 8 golfers played our 2nd golf game in Pattaya at Chee Chan golf resort. Half an hour drive south from Pattaya city, the imposing Buddha feature on the side of Khao Chee Chan, welcomed us to the Golf resort. A new golf course, the trees are yet to mature but the fairways and greens are well maintained which make our golfing experience a delight. As with all premium golf courses in Thailand, the reception and registration were seamless. The caddies were waiting for us near the buggies as we leave the locker room. Being a weekday, the course was not crowded. Play, however was marred by caddy inexperience, often giving distance estimation that doesn't coincide with distance markers. Clearly, the caddies were equally confused and only the few experienced caddies were able to provide reasonable distance estimates. Nonetheless, they clearly worked hard and often get into argument themselves about the distance. On the same note few caddies were confident to help read the line of putt. Otherwise, it was a course worth playing, what with the Buddha feature visible from every hole.

With Buddha overlooking your game from the mountain how can you go wrong.
Course well set out. Enjoyable but can be challenging.
Caddies well presented and very friendly. Knowledgeable when it mattered.
Club house and amenities were exceptional.
Did like the saying from caddie...." just aim for the Buddha". Became the catch cry for the day.
Cannot wait to return to play again.

Course is laid out at the feet of the Chee Chan Buddha carving - holes are rather challenging especially in the late afternoon when the winds pick up. Due to its newness, the trees hardly block out any of the wind - I'd be interested to see how it plays in the AM - if the winds flip around, it may not be so challenging. Caddies are really green but that's to be expected for a course that's 6 months old.

New golf course. Pompous driveway. Well organised.
Modern club house.
In the background you can see the Chee Chan Buddha Mountain, a 130 meter tall Buddha image cut out of the rock and gold-infilled.
Trees are still relatively small, not much rough, wide fairways.
Tricky greens, very fast and undulating.
The course is relatively long, back tees 7,345 yds and white tees 6,527 yds. The course has some interesting holes but the fairways somehow are kind of similar, there’s not much diversity.
The course is quite expensive, weekday greenfee THB 4,000 plus compulsory cart & caddy fee THB 1,200. Add the caddy tip and you have to fork out THB 5,600 which equals 180 US-Dollar. Weekend costs even more.
