My sister in law came skiing here 52 years ago, so we said we would visit it. Very nice, but only one cafe open due to it being summer as it is a ski resort.

Kandersteg is a beautiful quaint village in the Swiss Alps...magnificent hiking. You want for nothing here. Have been here on many hiking holidays here and just want to keep coming back. The Hotel Bernerhof is the best place to stay!

This was my first Via Ferrata although I have climbed for 25 years . I loved it. Get a guide if you are not familiar with the equipment. Lots of exposure , but if you have a head for heights just do it,

The 350 meter high cliff has a great Via Ferrata route up it's face. This particular one is not for complete novices and is not to be attempted during or after rain when the cliff face is wet and slippery. Only open in summer. Basic...More

This was a great experience to get into the train with the car .. costs 27 swiss frank but save an hour to cross the mountains.. We used it while going to Zermatt village.. Friendly staff and well organised with late transport till 11 pm..

This via ferrata or klttersteig is justly famous for its spectacular location and length. There are pretty good views across and up the valley into the Oberland peaks proper, but this is not a route for the distant vistas. The view of the air below...More
