Great for a visitor for whom science fiction is a passion. Excellent Jules Verne library. Free entry for Raiffeisen sociétaire with Maestro Card.

Didn't feel to much affiliated with the museum. A museum for Science Fiction books is not really something you want to see. Despite this the organisers gave their best. Jules Verne sector is worth it.

This was our first live escape room experience and we didn't really know what to expect. We booked Le Depot, the scenario is very well thought and very well implemented. Even though we didn't succeed to escape the room in the allocated time, we truly enjoyed all the puzzles and every little victory along the way. We would definitely recommend it. Can't wait to try their other challenges!

Spent a happy hour here enjoying the interactive exhibits. Even our teenage son was engaged. Located in beautiful old town of yverdon. If here - make a beeline!

Wikipedia has a great little write up on this museum. We felt it was well worth the visit, but you do have to know French to enjoy the videos that provide much of the background info.
There is a really fun demonstration of 3D goggles, a fantastic collection of Jules Verne and other sci-fi classics, and some intriguing temporary expositions. Very, very well done and highly recommended.

The reason I decided to visit the museum was that multiple reviews stated how unique and amazing it is. In my opinion though it is pretty average and small. The interactive part of the 'Dancing with the Stars' exhibition was alright, but I found the rest of it a bit boring. Maybe I just didn't completely understand the concept, but I was expecting something more. Especially from the Jules Verne part of it.

And I am such a fan. Every exhibition I have seen here has been excellent (superheros, robots, russian films...) There is also a wonderfully atmospheric library of rare fantasy books where fascinating mini exhibitions can take place.

This one has been a recurring treat over the years, and such an unlikely one too. Consider this: Yverdon is a smaller-sized Swiss "city" halfway between much more regionally important places: Lausanne and Bern. It has little to recommend it beyond its thermal baths. Why does it have a specialized sci-fi museum with changing exhibitions?

Once you get past that weird bit of nonsense, you have to manage your expectations: it's small and very specialized. That can be a great strength or a weakness, depending on your tastes and interests. Certainly the Museum is often brave and playful in its choices. At any rate, it's a great place to visit with kids.

If you need something more immersive and extreme (and more adult), try the the Giger Museum in Gruyeres. Now that gets an extra star. Props though to the Maison d'Ailleurs for exposing new audiences to obscure sci-fi gems, and for doing it with such enthusiasm, love and care.
