The HR Giger Museum is a fun experience. Due to the nature of the artists work, this would not be appropriate for kids. The exhibit is a bit worn and torn, the museum could use a facelift. Even more exciting is the HR Giger bar across from the Museum.

This museum is truly modern and is not only pleasable to scifi fans (though they will have more fun). A lot of constructions and paintings, including staff from famous movies.

Be prepared to enter into the wicked mind of one of the best artists of our era. The museum is big, full of exceptional oversized pieces of art that will bring you to a hellish journey into the dark side of sci-fi. The quality of the works can be appreciated also by everyone that is not into the Alien and... More

We came specifically to visit the HR Giger museum and bar as a surprise for my partner’s birthday. They are both amazing. The museum is extensive and the staff were friendly. It’s a must see! It has so much content from Giger’s early works, all the alien films and his work on other films – Species/Poltergeist II, plus some things... More

The perfect place to go if you are willing to bring your friends/family to a journey into fantastic and discover into details the characters of the Alien and Prometheus movies that have been created in the 70s (for most of them). The museum is located in the village of Gruyère which perfectly represents Switzerland. You'll be able to see impressive... More

Lots of pornographic material. Quite disturbing. Not suitable for kids at all. Even if kids have seen the alien movies, the porn in here is over the top. Go to the cafe to get a sense of the design/ alien theme.

Cutest town ever with this museum in it....who knew? Made a brief stop for lunch in Gruyeres on a girls road trip and noticed this museum....something my husband would really appreciate. Made the trip back with him and checked out the museum and cafe. I liked the museum and the Alien related sculpture/drawings....some of the art was a bit weird... More

My fiancé and I had a brief after noon trip to Gruyeres and we chose this museum over the castle (having just visited Chillon Castle the day before). It was fascinating, disturbing, and amazing - just like a museum should be. There is no photography allowed in the museum (and it is very dark anyway). There is a lot of... More

If you are a fan of H.R. Giger, you owe it to yourself to make this pilgrimage! Seeing these works of art in person was absolutely AMAZING! This wonderful gallery is tucked away in the tiniest, prettiest town on a hill, surrounded by the the foothills of the Alps. If you have the time I highly recommend staying over night... More
