However Paragliding was realy great experience but cycling in lap of nature was not less than that.
If you like some Adventure in cheaper way and in lap of nature!!! Then I would strongly recommend to visit this place.

I have heard a lot from people about this small town which is a beauty in itself. There are two things this place is famous for, one is that it is the paragliding capital of India and the second one is this small village is has 3 - 6 monasteries which are so peaceful and have interesting facts that one should know. A village is full of life and monks. Avoid visiting in rainy season as it would become difficult to travel and see things around. Also if you are not traveling with your vehicle, need not worry as you can hire a mountain bike and have fun.

Me and my cousin planned a 2-nights mountain biking, hiking and Paragliding trip with Travel Bir Billing.
Day 1: Arrive at Bir. We were given a room in their hotel for 2-hr. We took rest and then headed for mountain biking. After mountain biking, we were transferred to Camp Oak view in a car. Driver was friendly and helpful. We spent evening and night at Camp. We were served dinner buffet.
Day 2: Breakfast at Camp Oak view. Headed for hiking to Camp at Billing. Night Stay at small self-made camp at Billing. Dinner provided.
Day 3: Paragliding from Billing to Bir. Breakfast provided. That was the end of the trip.
Things we liked :
- Our trip included various meals from the organizer. Food was amazing. Dinner was arranged for us at the Billing camp. It was really delicious. On our last day, we tried some other restaurants in Bir as lunch for last day was not included in the trip. Street food in Bir was not that great. Travel Bir Billing guys arranged best food for us.
- Our stay at Camp Oak View and Camp at Billing was well organized and comfortable. Since we were only 2 people in both the camps, organizers at Travel Bir Billing served us good. They were always available for any help and for our safety.
- Camp Oak View is located above the town of Bir and away from it. It was quiet and with beautiful views around and with all amenities. Did I mention the food was great ? :)
- The area that we covered in mountain biking was also pretty with nice views of town of Bir. We biked upto a Tibetian monastery which was not only beautiful but had amazing views around of hills and villages.
Things that can be improved:
- Better guides for mountain biking and hiking Trip. Both the guides showed us only the path and didn't provide any additional information about the region, activity that we were doing etc. They mainly remained quiet unless we asked for information.
- Our small camp/tent at Billing was made near the main paragliding take-off site. The area was full of tourists and noise. As a result, we didn't enjoy in that area till late evening when crowds had left. We also could not take proper rest there after hiking tiredness because of the noise. Infact, people around there, who had come there for paragliding would be curious to see our tent and walkby around. It is suggested to put the tent at Billing away from the paragliding take-off point.
Final Recommendation: If you are new to the area and activities in that area like we were, I recommend Travel Bir Billing. Stay at Camp Oak view is worth the experience and money. Also, check the weather before organizing the trip. Do not visit at the time of rains.

I checked with them for the price and they are charging ₹2500/- for paragliding + ₹500/- for the video. It’s comparatively expensive as eventually I booked with another provider and it costed me ₹2500/- including the video and was very happy with their professionalism. Extra ₹500/- for no reason.

Peace in the surroundings , Adventure in the air. If you like a quite place for relaxing , this is it. Not really crowded or commercialised like other hill stations. Some small cafes with mouthwatering dishes, awesome weather all day long. If you are up for some adventure, try paragliding for sure, they charged us RS 2500 per head , Go Pro included, which was quite reasonable. Must Visit Cafes "June 16" and "Silver Linings", really good food and really nice people.
We stayed at Bir Tatva Resort , the paragliding was also provided by them.

We opted for package comprising paragliding, camping, trekking and cycling and I can say it was a really wonderful experience.
Cycling in the hills is a different experience altogether and a must if you love cycling.
Next we headed to Camp Oak View which was the best part of our trip. This camp is 10/10. Its such a lovely stay in those tents among the hills. The freshness in the air, the cleanliness of the camp, the awesome in-house food, bonfire and music, waking up to bird's chirping - you'll love every bit of it. The only regret which we had is we stayed there just for one night!
Next morning we did trekking from Bir to Billing, which is a moderately easy 4-5 hr trek. The path is simply fascinating. We reached Billing, the paragliding take-off point by evening before sunset. Had a delicious Maggi at a local stall. The view of Kangra valley from the top was beautiful. We stayed overnight in tents which was another memorable experience. Bonfire was also also arranged for us.
Next morning we did paragliding and I must say every one should do it. That awesome feeling of floating in the air and the view of the valley under is totally worth it. I would recommend opt for a video of your paragliding.
I would recommend to plan your trip with Travel Bir Billing as these guys are simply the best out there. And the experience which they provide is worth all your money!

me,my husband and my 7 yr old daughter did paragliding in May 2017. each was charged 2500rs including high quality go pro video(camera is in your hand all the time) and including vehicle to the launch site which is approx 40min drive from the landing site. the glider pilots were nice n did a mini glide for my 5yr old daughter as well for free. i think I got a good deal as it wasn't very crowded since it rained that day.It is definitely cheap as the height of the launch site in 2430m above sea level and 1000m from parking site. it's a good 15-20min paragliding. some tips- park your car at the landing site, go during proper weather conditions no rain nor cloudy, run with your glider n sit on the seat only when told to do so, depending on wind direction plan n be prepared to wait for may be half hr to 45mins(each person) before you go up in the air. It's safe n definitely a lifetime experience, so relax n enjoy!! highly recommend...

Bir billing is a heaven for paragliding ,reported as most suitable site for paragliding in Asia . This place remain busy for paragliding from March to June and September to December till snow fall at Billing. To reach at this place ,you can come via air to Gaggal or via train and via bus but avoid train as it takes very long time.
There are many hotels, guest houses and home stays available at this place.
Bir is also famous for boddhist monestries. Nearby places which will be worth visiting are Barot, Joginder Nagar, Chauntra and Baijnath.

Fly like a bird, experience the thrill and fun . 2 hours drive from Dharamshala. You can take a cab from Dharamshala which willl take you to Bir (landing point) and from there the Paragliding company will take you to Billing (take-off point) in their own jeep. And then from billing you fly donw back to Bir :)

There are various buses! 1350 is the cost for Volvo. And there are other government buses also, cost from 650-1100!
Better to take Volvo or if a backpacker then take roadways costing around 650. The semi deluxes are not good and worthy!
