Helgoland is a rock, that has turned out to be populated with humans as well is a number of wildlife. Lange Anne is a special part of the rock - another view of the extreme

Although you can take a 'bus' up to the upper island most people walk and whilst not a big distance its quite arduous. The gannet colony, the spectacular cliffs all go to make this unforgettable - providing its a nice day which, fortunately the island does get a fair number of!

The colours of the cliffs and the Lange Anna are spectacular. I think the best time to go is in the period from late June to early August when you can see hundreds of nesting birds (gannets) on the Lummelfelsen, and just a few steps away from you. We totally enjoyed it and took great photos!

From the town of Büsum one can sail with the ferry "Lady of Büsum" for the (2) islands of Helgoland. It's a fine ride of abt. 3 hours each way. There's the possibility to buy a nice and even cheap breakfast while setting out in the morning. The ferry will arrive abt. noon - and there are 3 hours to... More

We went to Helgoland not expecting the beauty that took over our senses! The air there is so pure that on a clear sunny day nature's colours can literally blind you with its beautiful contrasts of shades of blue, green, reds to browns & the white of the sea gulls!

When visiting the island of Helgoland, the visit of the "Lange Anna" is a must. Since there are no cars allowed on the island (and also no bikes!), you have to walk. But this walk is short and very pleasant. If you are a wheelchair user, special facilities are provided for you.Choose a sunny day for your visit in order... More

Walking around the island on a sunny day is a beautiful experience. Follow the trail all around. Along the way you will find small signs which explains the history of the island, the wildlife, and other interesting facts. You will also have fantastic views of the Düne, the rest of Helgoland, the sea surrounding the island and not least of... More
