The Markplatz in Bernkastel-Kues is usually our first stop once we land in Frankfurt, as it is only about a 90 minute drive from the airport and it's a great place to do some shopping for shoes (Berkenstocks), Mosel wines, and other local favorites. It...More

Mittelalterlicher Marktplatz is a really beautiful market square surrounded by nice structures. The half-timbered houses, the fountains and the tourists strolling around offered nice photo-taking opportunities for the photo-lovers. A wonderful square for relaxation.

This little square is so charming and picturesque. It is really small and you could even see how the builders fought with the space - houses are narrow, sometimes crooked, but all amazingly beautiful. Although there is not too much space you can find there...More

Visited every block of the old town, they look incredibly amazing, beautiful designed, very attractive with tiny wooden house and it’s beauty, pub and restaurants are everywhere. Souvenir shops and of course Wein shop. Totally love it and will definitely go back soon.

My main comment on these shops is to watch your time. The shops close around 5:00 pm. The shop owners still with that closing time. We were looking at earrings for granddaughters and the store owner offered lower prices if I purchased more than one...More

Mediaeval part of the town is a photographers dream. Half timbered multi coloured buildings probably 300 years old and more. Lovely cafes and restaurants too. A must see.

Worth more than the two nights we were able to stay. We will return for at least a week next visit next summer. A beautiful walking city with lovely friendly people.

Great place for a walk, about which my predecessors have already written a lot. I added two night photographs. Everything as beautiful as during the day, but quieter and calmer.

The Mittelalterlicher Marktplaz is a lovely area to walk. I was so sorry the stores were closed because I wanted to try many of the wines. The small building you see in the photo looks even more amazing in person. Bernkastel-Kues is definitely a return...More
