Huge selection, but work through the 4 page guide given at the desk. My husband and I tried 2 different but similar tastings at the same time for a parallel tasting, worked well... read more

Wineries are a little different in Germany – we found "walk-ins" are not generally welcome and making appointments is not easy either. Thankfully there is this place – a wine cave that houses all the wines in the valley (over 140). For 20 Euro you can taste as many as you want. Easily located and a great deal.

If you're new to German Mosel wines this is a great place to start. It has a fantastic selection from along the valley but mainly concentrates of the Middle Mosel. There are always some wines to taste and the prices are reasonable. The display case in the cellar has older wines on display for sale such as 1975 and 76... More

A must-do whenever we are in Bernkastel-Kues is a visit to the Vinothek of the Cusanus Stift. This time we also took the visit to the Stift again before enjoying the vast variety of local wines - leaving with only 2x6 bottles of excellent product from the Mosella region. What is nice: for a (rather) small sum you can taste... More

Better than advised. Go, you will not regret this experience. Divided into Red vs White. Sweet , half, and dry. The sweet wined are in round chillers. Each bineyard on dusplay has an information board

This was an optional excursion during our Viking River Cruise and was an extra 39Euro per person. It was worth every penny. Our tour started with a brief walking tour of the town of Bernkastel. A very quaint and old town. The town of Kues is across the river. Our guide was very informative a gave explanations about the town... More

This is the most unique wine tasting I have ever had. This is based on numerous trips to Napa, Sonoma, Central Coast and Temecula. After getting your glass and pretzel (and payment) we had access to trying almost 130 wines, our choice, we poured. There was good information available on each wine. Was this a daunting task to find the... More

Returned to this museum for the second time - previously visited 2 years ago and enjoyed our experience. This time was quite disappointing as the reception we received when we arrived was not very friendly and when we entered the museum itself we were not told how things worked. If we had not been before we would not have known... More

If you want to immerse yourself in the wines of the region, this is the place to go. Because it is generally expected to make an appointment to visit individual wineries(cellar doors), it can be difficult to try a large range of wines - however, the Vinothek allows you to try over 100 wines from the region at your own... Great idea but takes a bit of time to get help from staff. Eventually the gentleman at the desk was helpful and friendly when pouring the three special wines understandably not kept with the rest. Unless you have an idea of what you are looking for this can be a difficult place to taste. The descriptions are all in German... More
