Great small local museum, right on the Rhine. Climb to the top floor for amazing views of the Rhine River, and for that matter in all directions. Not much in English but a small fee for a really nice museum.

We were there in connection with one of our many trips to Boppard and were very eager to see the museum when it opened up a few years ago but unfortunately they did not have so many things to show.

Just down the river from this charming museum, Boppard has a WWII Rhine River crossing marker from the US 3rd Army. The location departing the museum, is following along the Rhine on Rheinalle Street, to the intersection of Gymnasium Street. The marker is set in...More

The townscape from the 1700s is worth the price of admission and the building is fun to explore. The museum is just a short walk from the town center. If you enjoy TV shows like "How It's Made", you'll really like the furniture exhibit.

We seemed to be the only visitors and found an interesting collection of bentwood furniture and little else. We climbed to the top of the tower where the views were interesting but there were no seating facilities on offer.

The Bentwood furniture exhibits and the history of the company were interesting as the process was developed in Boppard but most of the building appeared empty and under used. Without a knowledge of German little could be gleaned of the significance of the historical exibits.

We were interested in seeing the Bentwood chair collection but ended up learning a lot more about the 2000 year history of Boppard in this city museum. We enjoyed seeing this lovingly restored Electoral Castle that houses the museum.
