Ayodhya was the first destination of our package tour which started from Lucknow airport at 3-30 PM on 15th March 2021. It was about 3-4 hour drive from airport to Ayodhya where we had a booking at Hotel Ramprastha. By the time we reached hotel it was nearly 7 PM and so no time to visit any place. We were also very tired having left our home at Hyderabad at about 10 AM. So we planned to visit all important tourist places of Ayodhya next day after breakfast. We hired a guide also because of shortage of time and non familiarity with the town of Ayodhya. Our guide took us to several places including Naya Ghat, current site of Lord Ram's Temple construction, workshop, Hanuman Garhi, Sita ki Rasoi and Kanak Bhavan etc. To our disappointment we found that several streets were blocked by the local police and there was heavy deployment of security forces. This restricted our driver to take us to desired places and we had to walk a lot to see many attraction sites and even went from back entrances after parking the car at a designated site. So rather than visiting Kanak Bhavan first we other temples first. To reach Kanak Bhavan we had to walk about a km through a narrow street. Of course general public can also hire cycle rikshaws or auto rikshaws. I think that Kanak Bhavan is the main tourist attraction here and a must visit place. It is also the considered to be a religious place of significant religious importance next to the site of Ram Lala temple construction site. We first thought that it would be an ancient structure but it appears to have been renovated or reconstructed 200 to 300 years back, It is actually a big temple and during our visit time around 2 PM it was not much crowded. It is known to be the palace that was gifted By Lord Ram's step mother Kaikayi to Ram's wife Sita after their marriage. The temple complex including the court yard is very spacious. clean and well maintained but in the yard outside we found stray cattle and lots of monkeys. Photography of main temple where beautifully dressed idols of Ram and Sita and other deities are installed is prohibited. The visitors should be very careful from the monkeys. Fortunately they do not bite but would take away any item like beg etc. if left unattended There are also some shops outside selling religious items and providing tea/snacks etc.

We reached Kanak Bhawan temple at around 8:40pm. We waited till 9pm for Aarti. It was amazing devotional chants, we were lucky to be there at that time. After Aarti, devotees were offered Prasad from the temple management. The temple has big courtyard and is built in the shape of a palace. There are three pairs of consecrated idols—and all of them are those of Lord Ram and Sita in the temple. I lost my new pair of shoes there. So, remove your shoes or slippers at some shop there. The temple has a link with Ram Raja temple in Orcha, Madhya Pradesh. As per religious belief Lord Ram comes to Kanak Palace, Ayodhya in evening for sleeping and returns to Orcha temple for looking after daily duties of the king.

this is the palace of Sita, given to her when into the raghukul.
Nothing unusual about it. It's now a temple which is very well maintained and extremely peaceful.
No historical reason to think it is from Ram's time, the claim to fame is purely based on faith

It is supposedly the abode of Shriller Ram and Sita. The current structure is perhaps built a couple of hundred years back . The structure is very aesthetically built and well maintained. It houses the deities of Shri Ram and Sita .

Being a local , I have been there many times . It is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Rama & Maa Sita along with brothers Bharat , Laxman and Shatruhan. It is 3rd most visited Temple of Ayodhya after Hanuman Garhi & Ram Janam Bhumi. It has quite convenient location and right order to visit these 03 temples , Hanuman Garhi, Ram Janam Bhumi and Kanak Bhawan at last.

The best part of this temple , its moortees of Bhagwan Ram & Maa Sita , its looks lively and temple has ample space for visitors.
